wmw999 2,120 #1 August 10, 2015 Anything happening? My husband and I will be close in a couple-three days, and wonder if there is a summertime critical mass on weekdays. Don't want to stop by if it means waiting for someone to show up, but I keep hearing about it. Still on my list to visit, and now that I'm only a few hours away, it's gonna happen sometime. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. You can usually get 4-7 jumps on most weekdays if there isn't rain and the winds are 15 mph and below. There are usually people who take sick days (or are "working from home") there and tandems on the books. On a very beautiful day more people show up, and there is more variety in the types of jumps done. Check the weather. Ranch has notoriously high mechanical turbulence, so my suggestion is to stick to student wind rules if you're under a lightly loaded canopy or a canopy close to minimum manufacturer suggested wingloading (specifically crossfires loaded at 1.4 sometimes have issues). This is the most reliable forecast: http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?Submit=Go&sta=KMGJ&state=NY
