cbruno338 0 #1 October 9, 2011 Hello I have only one question but what a question , according to you what are the best DZ in the world ,not for their facilities ,but for the view they offer from the sky at 13500ft ? thanks everybody Bruno
BobMoore 0 #2 October 10, 2011 I have to say Lost Prairie, Montana. It's been my home DZ (I live in New York) for nearly 20 years now."For you see, an airplane is an airplane. A landing area is a landing area. But a dropzone... a dropzone is the people."
Tatetatetate 0 #3 October 10, 2011 I would say: Gap Tallard (the top is 14500ft) - on the ground on a motorbike or a car driving tour the scenery is fantastic. From the air it is even better.
mrubin 0 #4 October 10, 2011 Best I've seen is Skydive Switzerland in Interlaken. After that is Skydive Santa Barbara."I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
BobMoore 0 #5 October 10, 2011 I also have to put in a vote for Skydive Rich Grimm in San Pedro, Belize."For you see, an airplane is an airplane. A landing area is a landing area. But a dropzone... a dropzone is the people."

JohnRich 4 #17 October 11, 2011 Quotewhat are the best DZ in the world for the view they offer from the sky at 13500ft ? What are the elements that comprise a "best view"? Would flat farmland as far as you can see qualify? Or would it require mountains & valleys, beaches & ocean, desert & canyons, snow-capped peaks, or some combination thereof? This is also very subjective, and will vary from person to person. Someone who spends all his time near the ocean might want mountains. Someone who lives in the mountains might want ocean. There is no correct answer here. To each his own.
BillyVance 34 #18 October 11, 2011 Over the years that I've been skydiving, I count Skydive Monterey Bay, Emerald Coast Skydivers and Skydive Sebastain as having my favorite views, not necessarily in that order. Beach jumps with Emerald Coast Skydivers are treasured in my heart. 20+ mile drives back to the DZ be damned. One of my favorite boogies of all time was a beach jump boogie where all of my jumps were done on the beach. Adding to the fun was having to land in all four directions in one day due to wind changes as the day progressed. And free beer at the Florabama Bar after the last jump. drdive 0 #21 October 15, 2011 I agree with Bob Moore about Lost Prairie and Belize, but I love the view from Kapowsin - Mt Rainier, Olympics, Cascades, Hood Canal, Puget sound. Also, Sebastian in FL is beautiful over the ocean and intracoastal waterway."We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" flyingmontana 1 #22 October 15, 2011 A vote here for Skydive New England, and how I wish I were there right now while the leaves are blazing with color!
LongWayToFall 0 #23 October 20, 2011 I don't think Hollister is bad, especially in the evenings... The best for me, has been Monterey, followed by Skydive Norcal, which has some great views of wine country.
