It was a place to go to say "no shit, there I was". If you said it was your FIRST, the bell rang. You happily bought that round. The bell. The bar. The memories. The wagon wheel. The bar jumps. The HYMN HYMN HYMN. The pictures. The people. The vibe. They used to move the pool table out. Did you know that? That side of the bar was WIDE open for *US* to enjoy. It was home. If for only a few days. And it FELT like home. Then they left it there and it was covered ... in beer and good times. The SMALLEST bathrooms ever. With ducks on the wall. Waiting in line and stealing the "men's room" if the door was open. Stinky. And bar tabs. And George being all grumpy with a glint in his eye when I asked for ice. Poker games. BAR DIVES!!! The WOOD ... Cunninglinguist time. That bannister has more memories hiding in it than an old folks home! MadJohn. Richie. The Cock Chorus. The Crack Choir. Mac. Mac LOVED that bar. Lots of good times spent there with him. Friends lost. Too many to mention but the memories will never fade. Their memories are in that bar, on the walls , ON the bar. In our hearts. Friends gained. It's been there for it all. Memories. LP will never be the same for me. But I am so glad I had 21 years of the fun and MEMORIES. This year will not be the same. Don't take away my memories of it. I know it's not the response that will please most people, but with all the uncertainty surrounding the boogie this year at least now we have one thing we know not to expect. Not having the bar is a very serious blow. Certainly given the choice to have it open or not, we'd want it running in all it's glory. But there is a silver lining. Some of the non-jumpers that used to cause trouble at the boogie won't have a nearby base of operations. This year the grand majority of the trouble makers will be wearing wrist-bands! Let's not forget folks, this boogie is not about buildings and businesses. It's about us. So long as we have the company of good friends we have the potential to have a fantastic time.
