BRIDGE THE GAP 2011 - Skydive Elsinore

Recommended Posts

May 7 & 8, 2011

Passing on the information. Come on out! :)
The second big event of Elsinore's year is coming up quick! Now, this event is not the classic "boogie" vibe... this event, is geared entirely toward newer jumpers. This event is where coaches come out in force all in the name of giving back to our community and YOU guys who are the future of our sport. This event.......

..... is BRIDGE THE GAP. :))

SO, if you are a newer jumper who wants to learn, meet people, meet coaches, get in the air, learn skills, learn safety, learn about your gear, get to DEMO the gear that you're thinking of buying before taking that plunge..... this is the event for you. Already on the horn with all the manufacturers to see who's going to be out this year-- usually the list includes, PD canopies, Mirage rigs, UPT rigs, Liquid Sky Suits... hopefully we'll get Cookie helmets out for it, maybe SkySystems, maybe Tony Suits..... I will keep you posted as companies commit, so you'll know what gear you'll get to try during this absolutely awesome weekend education event!

I know boogies can intimidate new jumpers, and BTG will totally help you get your feet wet with travel, seeing a new DZ, and of course getting all the info and having tons of fun!!

Basically the format of the event is that everyone chooses what discipline they want to work on, belly, freefly, or both, and then everyone is separated into groups. EVERY group has a freefly AND a belly coach-- we bridge that gap, helping everyone learn what they want, and learn from each other in the process. Plus, there is ongoing canopy coaching throughout the entire weekend, so just ask a coach, and we can watch any of your landings and give you tips on how to improve.

There also will be a canopy seminar Saturday after jumping! Jonathan Tagle usually rocks this one out for us! Confirming all our coaches now actually, but regardless it's going to be an incredible line-up of amazing coaches that you get to learn from all weekend long, for a measly $45 registration. As of now, confirmed coaches are Melanie Curtis, Lou Ascione, Andy Malchiodi, Brad Cole, Crystal Sanchez, Chuck Reilly, and we're confirming more as we go.. likely will have 10 badasses on board, so 5 groups to fill up! :) AND you get the long-sleeve BTG t-shirt too!!

This event is super cheap because, again, it's a give-back to you guys. :))

Any questions, say the word!! Don't be shy, really... if you are new, and feeling nervous, it's all good.. book your tickets, and call the DZ to sign up, (951) 245-9939... and see you there!!

Super stoked!
Mel :))

UPDATE: Via Melanie Curtis

Bridge The Gap is one of the BEST events ever-- it's all about education, the registration is only $45, which gets you the event shirt, and ridiculous amounts of coaching over two days (probably 3, Brad Cole is likely adding a Friday bonus coaching day to this event this year, no kidding!), canopy seminar Saturday night, access to all the equipment demos--
Every company that comes also donates sweet prizes to the event raffle! Basically this event is a give-back that Skydive Elsinore puts on every year.

PD canopies, Mirage rigs, Liquid Sky Suits, and Cookie Helmets are all confirmed for BTG! Just updated the event, check it, and new jumpers, get your butts out here for this! It's a give-back event, which is why it's so cheap.. coaches donate their time, manufacturers give prizes to the raffle, the dz covers the coaches slots... yeah, can't get this value anywhere else. One place, once a year. Call the office to sign up!
