WLDMAN 0 #3 January 13, 2010 I'm heading to Jamaica in a couple days. Are they still operating/open? Is it worth taking my gear? I haven't got a reply from info@skydive-jamaica.com Thanks for any info!Anvil Brother #70 "Dance like it hurts. Love like you need money. WLDMAN 0 #7 January 15, 2010 Someone just mentioned to me that a dropzone in Jamaica was Tandem-only and pretty much geared toward the cruise-ship crowd. That's not THIS DZ is it?More feedback please!! Anvil Brother #70 "Dance like it hurts. Love like you need money. They seemed pretty friendly when I called them.AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #
mgregory 0 #9 January 20, 2010 Anyone going to be in Jamaica the week of April 11th? I'm going to be in Ocho Rios and it would be fun to have someone to jump with.AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #
ASTKU 1 #10 January 24, 2010 I am definitely down for Jamaica as soon as I can. Been there twice but not since I've been jumping. When you go try some guinups (if the're in season) and rose apples. Very good fruit there. Best orange I ever had was in Jamaica. Let's get some funding pulled together and buy a community house near this dz haha. mgregory 0 #11 January 26, 2010 I'll start saving every dime now. Living near the only DZ in Jamaica doesn't sound too bad at all. I'll check out the fruit too. I'll need something to revitalize me after all the Red Stripe and Rum.AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #
FallingJordan 0 #12 February 10, 2010 I was reading on their website they require an FAI license. Anyone know what that is? Shoot me if it's a stupid question I'm like a chocolate covered pretzel...I might be kind of melty but dang, I'm exquisite!
Sletzer 3 #13 March 16, 2010 (I don't know what an FAI license is, either.) I'll be in Ocho Rios May 4-9, 2010 and plan to do some fun jumping, I'll also be bringing a tandem along. If anyone is around on those dates, hit me up.I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251
Keithmaj 0 #14 March 18, 2010 A USPA liscense is equivalent and all that's needed. (FAI is international standard). I was there in early March and got in 4 jumps. Very nice people there. Very few outs, but the landing area is adequate. Call ahead to see when they have students booked, because like many DZ's these days, if there aren't students it's unlikely you will have enough fun jumpers there to fly the King Air... Have fun! I would definitely jump there again... Probably the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen on a jump!Keith "Jump to Live!"
mgregory 0 #15 March 21, 2010 I'm pumped to jump there! Only 3 more weeks till vacation!AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #
velocityphoto 0 #16 March 21, 2010 I couldn't find photo's of the landing area , is it beach landing or not? A friend will bail you out of jail , a REAL friend will be sitting next to you in the cell slapping your hand saying "DUDE THAT WAS AWSUM " ................ mgregory 0 #17 March 22, 2010 I watched a tandem video from there on youtube. The landing area is sandy, but doesn't appear to be the beach.AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #
Keithmaj 0 #18 March 22, 2010 No it's not a beach landing, but the airport is right on the coast. There is no beach on that slice of the island... more of a cliff :)Keith "Jump to Live!"
