The guy who did the Poem Saturday night was doing outside video on at least half the SCR's. I got some stills from him, and I'm pretty sure he took video as well.
I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows*

broke...

weren't you the guy with whom i sat, for 20 minutes trying to firewire to your mac?????

maybe not.

anyway I got , i think 4 scr dives,,on vid...and 3 hoop dives....
some of them i docked on,,, (cause they were little ways, and needed to be grown to at least 8...) some i stayed outside...

some built to 5 or 6 some built to 7,, some built to 8 or more ,, some only held 2 seconds, some 5 or 6. there was a solid 10 way... with a couple still out...
mostly though..... Non - builds...[:/] or borderline "held 5 seconds"....:o:D

now do you really wanna see the vids?????
..or....
lets just go with the L O 's interpretation, of the relative success of the dives.. :|

capice?;)

attached are a few shots... the second one is for Adam, (sletzer ) , who did a fine job on all the dives...
thanks sangiro for the bandwidth... which allows for these pictures...to be shared...

signed,

the guy.

what a fun time huh, Broke???

the poem was one written by a guy named Tim Rogers... maybe in the mid 70's..
it's The Phantom Tenth Man.......
I read it
I loved it.
I decided to memorize it.
so i could share it...with fellow skydivers...B|

BUt I won't write it down, :| that's plagiarism...>:(
wanna hear it????;)
come to skyfest 2009!!!!!;)B|:)

Now.....
I WILL write down a poem which I DID compose, But didn't recite @ skyfest...

it's not quite as good,,,, but i like it AND it came from my heart....
( during a cannabis induced, flash of creativity):o:S:P
it's titled...

Just One...

There was a voice inside me
I'd hear it now and then
when days were warm or skies were blue
or i was with a friend

It started soft, with gentle urges
but grew and grew , in leaps and surges
'til from my mouth as if a shout!!!
one day I said, or blurted out,

"for sure, why not?, it might be fun"
" a parachute jump, from a Plane"
'just one"

i'd heard about it once or twice
and always thought it would be nice
to float around, and look way down,
check out the ground, not make a sound.

well the chance arose, one free Fall day ,
and some friends and i , we made our way
through what it was one had to do,
to safely make a jump or two

I can tell you now, it was pretty hairy
the time was near, my mind unclear
and things were looking scarey...

what are you doing? Is it safe/ , are you sure!!??
said that little voice inside me.
but I reassured myself and said,
" I have my head to guide me".

"For just this once I'll do this thing
and leave a plane in flight,
and make some friends, and have some laughs
and it'll be over, by tonight."

So up I went and Out the door.
and to my surprise came back for more.
Well it's been a while since that Autumn Day
and MANY jumps have gone their way...

The early days of aprehension
are gone my friend, there is No tension
Now jumping's MORE than Lots of Fun
and think, it started with, Just One.:)

HERE HERE! Great poem! It's easier to read the one you wrote after having hear you recite the other one at Skyfest. I can honestly say that standing there with a cold beer in my hand after a great day of skydiving and hearing Jimmy recite the poem was the highlight of my trip. He got the whole crowd cheering at some parts, and booing the FAA, and generally having a great time. I've never seen people get that into a poem before. It's almost worth the trip just to hear it again next year! (BTW, I'll definitely be there)

Jimmy, it was great meeting you and your wife. You were both a pleasure to talk to. Thanks for the great pictures, and the great skydives!

jmy

You know Jimmy, as a cousin I have to say; you treated me just like family. Not one mention of the poem I have been reading for 8 years at the end of the ceremony, nothing but raves about yours :S:P:o:)I guess you have taken one job off my hands, and Bolas; no swooping my poet! He belongs to the SF family LOL;)

:| Ah ! Lost Prairie... i have heard and read so much about it.
i bet it's mystical..:)
but sadly [:/]

it shall have to remain a wisp of a dream for a time in the future....

it's so far away from us, and i tend to stay away from airline travel... I Like to be able to bring with me,,,many more things than i think i'll need, and so we roll along the highways..
time's not so much the issue as is Petrol....

so thanks and have a Great Time..

NOW if I had such a fine snappy looking motorcycle as you !! bolas..... that might be different...:D

Jumping with everyone was just a blast and thanks Happythoughts for being the Target.....:o:SB|B|.......
i mean hoop holder...
nothing but great exits,, everytime...well organized, it was fun...

the pictures are my meager attempts to preserve some fun and electric moments in time... in a way, which will put a smile, on someones face,, when viewed now, and for many years to come...
i just push some buttons, click some switches,,,and keep my fingers crossed...
:o:DB|
the gear, and printers, do the rest...
and the pleasure it brings to people
is awfully satisfying.....pms requesting a jpeg or two are welcome...

anyway...
Stay safe..everybody......
see ya' soon.

I loved the poem. It made the hairs stand up on my arms. Good goosebumps. I actually felt like part of history, and started to understand the pride behind the SCR.

Thank you too for the picture. Hey, I even made it into the picture of Lauraliscious...well, half of my left hand made it into the picture. ;)
