CanuckInUSA 0 #26 May 13, 2004 I was planning on being in the NY/NJ area over this July 4th long weekend (airplane tickets have already been purchased). Now originally some people were talking of visiting "The Ranch" (I think you were one of them), but a few people also mentioned that they might like to check out this PST event in Wildwood (I know Dove was one if she'll still be in that neck of the woods at that time of the year). So I will keep my eyes and my ears open to some suggestions. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

diveout 0 #28 May 14, 2004 for those of you who've been to the boogie previously- WHERE ON THE BEACH IS IT?! no one seems to have this information- does anyone have an address or the name of a landmark that the manifest/ landing area is near to? looking online the beach looks like it stretches for miles, I don't want to book a room and be miles away from where the action is. anyone?! Vertifly 0 #29 May 14, 2004 There are three long piers at wildwood known as "Morey Piers". I was always under the impression that in-between the two spaces where the piers are located a landing area is provided. Can anyone who has gone or working closely with event organizers confirm this? The following link is a flyer for this years boogie. The piers are shown in the background. PST, Wildwood Boogie, XKEYS, etc. Contacting any of the sources on this advertisement would probably help. diveout 0 #30 May 14, 2004 nice-I think I see what you're referring to in the photo- the area between the two amusement park looking areas? Thanks for the info-
Vertifly 0 #31 May 14, 2004 This info may not be accurate. Please let me clarify that. This area is simply where I was once told that it was going to be located a few years ago; until now, I simply couldn't attend. Perhaps someone will chime in to verify or you can check it out with a more knowledgable source. The airport is cap may airport. The ride to the airport usually ran about 30 minutes, if memory serves me, which sometimes it doesn't. If they are using the allouette for the competition jumps that is good. It will make things run much smoother for the competitors. I usually could get in about 5-7 jumps in a day what with packing, bus ride back to the airport etc. I would imagine that, due to the competition, their will be another landing area set up closer to the ocean. The normal one was quite a distance up the beach. The only concerns for landing are clearing the town and the boardwalk. If you get yourself low over the town there are outs but they are very tight. You better have your shit together. I will say, I was deeply dissapointed last year when this did not happen. It is one of the best times and coolest things I have done skydiving in New Jersey. We were packing up on the boardwalk( areas of it are concrete ) and little kids were running up and asking all kinds of questions...it was great! Methane Freefly - got stink? The helipad is at the end of the boardwalk, so in addition to awesome helicopter jumps all weekend, boarding the helicopter will be just a short tram ride away from the landing area. And I’m sad to inform all the fine folks up at the Ranch that you will not get to see my ugly mug over this July 4th long weekend. But I am happy to report that unless I don’t get lost, I will be passing through Crosskeys tomorrow on my way to Wildwood NJ for the PST beach boogie. And the ultra cool thing about this trip (besides making new friends and renewing old ones) is that I will be staying with one of my younger brothers who is in the Wildwood area working for the summer. In fact his place of employment is on the corner of Cedar and Boardwalk, which is within stones throwing distance (1/2 a block or so) from the Splash Zone and landing area for the PST and boogie. It should be fun. I hope to see a few of you out there on the beach.
