"Bridge the Gap" June 7-8, 2003 - Skydive Elsinore

Recommended Posts

For details, click here.

This is a great place to meet people, learn more about your gear and get some great coaching (RW, Freefly, Canopy skills) in the process.

I attended last year, it was a super event and hope to see it grow this year. There were great tips from riggers about the "little things" that will take care of your gear. PDs LeBlanc was there with his vast knowledge about choosing the right canopy beyond simple wing-loading choices. Pre-registration is only $35 (does not include jumps).

The focus is for growing skydivers at around 300 jumps or less. The goodies are useful! The coaches are top notch and the vibe is all good.

I encourage everyone to come on out. See you there!
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I was told that PD WILL have demo canopies, again. ;)

Hopper, I'm still waiting for Wyat to write back to me about my canopy control course date. I will hopefully know by tomorrow morning. (Friday seems like the most logical date.)

Are most people staying in that bunkhouse, or does anyone know of any hotels (Casino is booked) that are nearby. Are there any women that are thinking of getting a room with a more comfy bed, so I could share/split costs? Michele pm me back, sweetie. Please let me know. I like to plan.

I am very excited about this. I will see you guys/girls there! :)

I've got less than 25 jumps and I wish this was coming up again soon...if there's a gap for everybody under 300, there's an even bigger gap between 8 jumps and 100 jumps...and the bridges at my current DZ don't appear to be as wide as I'd originally anticipated.

Is this only an annual event?

I just learned that there are events at Perris called "Running Start" put on by Perris Cadence. I hear they have another one coming up, it includes the kind of basic body flight skills we all need and will soon be doing in the new Perris wind tunnel. It also includes canopy and safety info everybody needs.

At Perris you can demo any PD or Icarus or any other canopy any time at Square 1 and Dave Van Greunigen from PD Blue is there, he is trained as a PD Factory rep along with the Icarus Extreme guys and their canopy school.

Dan BC is also the DZ manager and I hear from my friends he is over there jumping with different groups on the weekends.

Pam from Perris Cadence at
([email protected]) is always willing to set up one on one body flight coaching for free. My friend who has 39 jumps learned body flight (arching, leg turns, etc.) by doing coach jumps with some of the LO guys and Pam and she flies better than I do and I have 150 jumps.:o

Check it out!;)
