I'm not PRO-rated, and I know a good number of other invitees who also aren't PRO-rated. I don't think that is a requirement for this demo. But everyone does seem to be the type that is highly-qualified, trustworthy, and capable of landing where they want.

I've never felt the urge to pay an annual fee to USPA to prove to the headquarters folks what everyone who knows me already knows that I am capable of doing. I don't care what HQ thinks...

I'm wondering what 170 & 190 you are using. Also what is your exit weight?

Haven't done one in many moons, but demos were some of my favorites. The challenge of landing in virgin teritory can make for some interesting jumps.
(We never had Satellite photos[amazing])
Keep us posted on outcome!

Nope, I don't need to stinkin' hugs. I just need the USPA to quit convincing bureaucrats that I'm no longer qualified for demo jumps because I didn't pay them for a little piece of paper with their blessing on it. It's the rebel non-conformist in me that makes me say these things... :)

The 170 & 190 are 'Z-Po' line products
from Strong Enterprise'

We developed a relationship with that company years
ago and they've been quite helpful assisting our team
with specialty products we incorporate into out Demo act.

The thing I like about Strong gear, is that it is
'over engineered' in that it can take a lot of hard use
and still work great.
An important consideration with demo gear
...especially when one tends 'overload' it with extra
demo junk.
....my exit weight is in the 250 range fun jumping
...and at times 320-340 lbs. doing certain demo acts.

The Z-Po line of canopies are a great compromise of
speed and accuracy.
Not designed as pond swoopers...I can still salvage a
bad spot, or contend with winds many other 'demo'
type canopies struggle with.
They all seem to be quite stable when sinking them
accuracy style, with impressive recovery rates.
Great control range, and stand ups are simple...



All our canopies (from various manufactures) are the
same color pattern, including the reserves
...if someone functions during a performance...only the
sharp eyed spectators know!

We use Strong Ent. harness & container systems with
Strong Ent. reserves,
We have a bunch of canopies in inventory of various
designs and manufactures...
Some I absolutely love for sport jumping...
but don't work well in the demonstration arena.

One that comes to mind is the Triathlon,
a fantastic all around canopy for applications such as ours...
but seem to 'wear' faster and in ways Z-Po's do not.
(in my expierence anyway) :)

...I have 5 demo malfunctions
...most all from asking a parachute to do
more than it was intended or designed to do...

All 5 times were NOT Strong Ent. mains
...but I'm still here because of Strong Reserves! :)
I am looking forward to checking out Sparkys
'Sharpshooter' next week.

From what he says, it may be the ultimate demo canopy
for us "Old Guys!" ;)

we use for the 2000 sqft. Flag! :P

Here are the satellite photos from Mapquest. They're a bit fuzzy, and I'm not sure the color helps, but it does look like there is still some undeveloped land around the immediate area, for "out" landings.

You'll want to read these carefully, and maybe print these off and carry them with you in case you run into an airport screener who isn't aware of the rules, and tries to deny your parachute rig.

You are better off carrying your rig onboard, rather than in checked baggage. "Hide" it inside a bag. Don't put anything else in the bag with it, to minimize the chances of something looking "suspicious" on x-ray. Secure your handle so it can't be pulled (I tie mine down with a pull-up cord.) Put a strip of masking tape across the back with "Parachute" written on it, to identify it, so that screeners will have no excuse not to follow the special rules in place for parachute rigs. The size limit for carry-on bags is 51 inches, combined measurement of length plus width plus depth, and not to exceed 40 lbs.
