How far do YOU drive to get your skydiving fix?

Recommended Posts

90 minutes from Los Angeles.

Eastbound, I can go to Perris/Elsinore.

If I want to got North it's still 90 minutes to Skydive Taft or Cal City.

Any way you go your screwed!

I don't understand why they can't open a dropzone in Valencia out by Six Flags. That would be so convinient!
It's wide open land and it's close in!

I know land is expensive but look at Skydive San Diego, they are really close to the city!

I live an hour. Of course yesterday I was looking at wind conditions of anywhere within a 3 hour radius so i could jump yesterday. how pathetic is that?!:S

To the store/dz in Sebastian to jump/"work" -- 123 miles:|

To Deland just for fun jumping -- 31 Miles.:)
To bandit beach jumps into Snack Jack's -- 1.8 miles.B|

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Depending on which DZ I go to, it's 2:00 - 2:45 one way. And I have driven that far knowing I was only going to be able to get in just one jump. Yep, I am a sad individual. I just drove to the DZ this past Friday, got there about 10:00 a.m. and stayed until Saturday night. Got in a whopping 2 jumps- only 2 loads that went up- due to the wind. GRRRRRRRRRRR.........

close enough to hear the first plane climbing up when i'm lazy

Ditto! What a way to get motivated in the morning.:)
4 1/2 minutes driving, 12 minutes on my bicycle, 22ish walking if I cut across the end of the airport. Small airport.

132 miles each way. Can take anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic. Have a couple of very fine DZs much closer that I'll be visiting occasionally... those of us in So Cal DO have it good!

Generally, it is your choice; will your life serve as an example... or a warning?
