What makes a team?

Recommended Posts

Planning.

Before you start, define everything and then make sure that everyone is able to commit to that plan.

- How often to train.
- Finances. All this stuff costs lots of money. Add it up before starting.
- End date. Be a team until a specified date and
then have a sit-down dinner and review.
- Type of training. Coaches, tunnel time.
- Intensity. Competitions? How many? Travel?

Get a rock. At the end of each day, pass the rock from person to person. Only the person with the rock can talk. Even among friends, it can be tough.

definitely personality. You can have the four best skydivers in the world, but if they are unable to get along enough to listen to each other and spend MASS quantities of time with each other, things won't go very far. My favorite memories are of my first team when it was four friends learning 4way. We had a great time, got along fabulously. Another team I was on had waaaaaaay to many politics and back stabbing.

I'd rather spend all my money being happy, not miserable.

I think that Stacy nailed it. 4-way is all about ahving fun. That can mean being on a team you get along with but done love being with is cool as long as the skyd.iving is great and your learning. However, unless you are pushing to get a ton better having a good time every training day is WAY more important

Man...how times have changed,
In the 'olden daze' we use to pass something else.

But to elaborate...on this point;
Communication!
As stated above..plan everything-
practices, travel, costs...every contingency, including
a 'player to be named later' should the need arise.

Everyone on the team has input, but you should designate a
team leader to make the 'final' decisions after everyone has
had a chance to voice their ideas.

Dump any 'personal' ego's and develop a team ego...
goes to the part about commitment.
Success depends on everyone putting the team first.

...Make sure the Tee Shirts are dark in color...
makes them look cleaner! :P
