frenchcloud 0 #1 April 5, 2005 i went from Indianapolis airport to California for spring break. i completely forgot that my packboy (which, may i remind you is made of metal and ends in a point shape) was in my pocket as i was about to walk through the metal detector. i realized i was gonna be in trouble so i just took it out of my pocket and lay it in the plastic container where you re supposed to put your shoes. i figured i might as well let them take it from the container and explain that it s supposed to close parachutes (and that the rope was not meant to strangle someone). the box went through...and i took my shoes back along with the pack boy that had not even been noticed... -------------------------------------------------- The tongue is NOT only a tool for speech! Zenister 0 #3 April 5, 2005 why is that a problem? if the are going to confiscate 'pack boys' they should also be confiscating nearly every writing instrument available...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Travman 6 #4 April 5, 2005 Although its true you could get a metal pen that would make a much better weapon, I would still be surprised if I was allowed on with one.
FrogNog 1 #5 April 5, 2005 That's how "my friend" used to transport his Spiderco Delica pocketknife on planes: put a wad of money in the pocket clip and put it in the basket. Things changed in 2001, of course. -=-=-=-=- Pull.
WrongWay 0 #6 April 5, 2005 Quoteoooopps, i meant TSA... not FDA Did they take your toothbrush? Interesting about the pack boy btw....I think that'd be a case depending on who you had running you through security, and how easy going they were. cbain 0 #7 April 5, 2005 You can't take a pair of fingernail clippers or even a lighter anymore but the other day I watched a woman go through with a set of metal knitting needles! I just don't get it. Christina
