Your Skydiving Goals for 2005?

Recommended Posts

OK - I've been laid up since November 13 with a broken ankle. Since I'm done working on college stuff now, (whole 'nuther story) I just started thinking about skydiving goals for next year.

My tenative list - Not hard and fast, just what I'd like to accomplish, in no particular order.

-Finish healing and get back in the air.
-Take Scott Miller's canopy course. (This has been on my list the last two years, now it's time I make it a higher priority.)
-Go to Orlando for an hour or so in the tunnel and visit Z-hills.
-Compete in the MWSL 4-way league. (I've already gotten invites to join teams!)
-Coach newbies like crazy.
-Earn Static line and/or AFF ratings.
-Make at least 200 jumps.
-Attend at least 1 "big" boogie.

If I get half of this done, I'll consider it a good year.

So what are YOU planning for next year?

- Take another canopy control class (can't take too many or learn too much)
- Downsize to a 150
- Get more tunnel time
- 150-200 jumps
- Attend a CRW beginner camp
- Get that whole backflying and sitflying thing figured out :D

Think that's about it for now. Who knows...maybe a coach's rating...more jumps...jump at other dz's...whatever comes my way....Have fun and play. B|

- Get my SLI
- Make a minimum of 100 instructor jumps
- Break 500 jumps
- Attend a Brian Germain Seminar
- Take a FFC
- Buy a birdman
- Fiend the birdman until I can buy a V2
- Hit up bridge day
- Unlikely, but I would love to get my commercial ticket and start flying some at the local 182 DZ
- Oh, and get 10 reserves signed off for my rigger's ticket

The first and fourth are what I mostly care about, but *hopefully* I can get the FFC when I'm up at SDC in April for BG's seminar. Th rest are just bonus!

I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF

I've had to cut back on some of my goals just 'cause a money.

Goals I won't get to achieve are:
• Forming a CReW rot' team for nats. (SDD has never sent a team to nats in CReW).
• Texas State Record

Goals I can achieve:
• Flying video and coaching a rookie 4-way team (attached)
• Organizing an informal 1-day "boogie" thingy like this one from last year: Just Fer Us
• There's this cute brunette...

My goals are:

Buy my own gear

Make between 55 and 75 jumps

Get some RW coaching

Participate in 3 way and 4 way scrambles

Go to Summerfest

and be at the DZ when Jeth graduates
------------------------------------------------
I've done so much, with so little, for so long
I'm now expected to do everything with nothing forever

i just began skydiving but my first goals are to complete my AFF jumps and then get my A license then i'll go from there

What he said... plus ...

--Don't get hurt (this also implicitly includes "don't die").
--Buy my own gear
--Continue learning every day even after I get off student status
--Get to know my DZ and the people out there and continue becoming part of the community
--Jump somewhere else (haven't figured out whether this will be at some big event, or traveling with local jumpers or just when I happen to be traveling somewhere interesting).
--HAVE FUN

Rule #1...Don't fucking die!

Always rule # 1...the rest are just bonuses. :)

Absolutely!!

I shoulda had that "don't get hurt" on my list this year I suppose - Maybe I wouldn't be spending so much time healing!:P

"Stay Alive" sounds so much better than "don't die" - Don't you agree?

- Do another canopy control course, and learn how to fly my canopy, learn its limitations and try not to have too many limitations myself. Hopefully by the end of it i'll be able to:
- Land on my feet in a nil wind landing and for it not to hurt!!
- Get my cat 10, after doing some tunnel time.
- Learn how to fly my long skinny body fast!!! And not to have to wear weight, or if I HAVE TO wear weight, to get used to it.
- Do my 100th jump NAKED!!
- Do another 100 jumps and spend two months of the summer bumming around a DZ in Spain somewhere, brushing up on my Spanish and my skydiving skills.
- Jump with as many different people as possible, = HAVE LOADS OF FUN!!!
- Get my B liscence.
- Encourage people not to give up when they are despondant, as I have had that feeling (and may go through it again next year, but I do not intend on giving up!!)

BLUE SKIES EVERYONE AND HAPPY LANDINGS.

xx
