Adrenaline Rush: The Science of Risk

Recommended Posts

I purchased this DVD in order to pump myself up before I head down to Florida to work on my AFF. Definitely did the trick - I'm sure a lot of you have seen it, but if not, I highly recommend it for both the experienced and new skydiver alike. Great Skydiving and BASE videography. As a student, if you find yourself dealing with the issue of "fear" like myself, I doubly recommend watching this film. Five seconds into the film, I immediately recalled to mind that very moment when I first experienced freefall; when I first experienced that "ahh, this is why they do it" feeling; when I first realized that fear, not just the fear of falling, but any fear is manageable, and at times even conquerable...

So yeah - cool flick. Check it out... To those of you who have seen it, I'm trying to find the lyrics to the opening song "Touch the Sky" by Hadley - any help would be appreciated!

Thanks :)

See it in IMAX if you get the chance. You'll appreciate it even more.

Worth the trip this year?

"-- Feb. 4-5: "Adrenaline Rush: The Science of Risk" (2002/40 min.) exposes the biology behind risk-taking while providing vertiginous scenes from extreme heights. An up-close look at skydiving and base-jumping delves into the connection between science and thrill-seeking. With stunning photography of jumps over the Florida Keys, the Mojave Desert and the Fjords of Norway.

Footage includes a professional jumper's leap from a 4,265-foot cliff in Norway, and an examination of a centuries-old parachute design created by Leonardo da Vinci."

Trevor,

Do you know if the IMAX version will ever be shown again around here in this region? I missed seeing it in IMAX before I thought of even getting seriously "into" skydiving, and am kicking myself for that.

The upcoming lists don't look promising. :|
