CSPA and where it is valid

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering where a CSPA is valid. I know it's good in the US and I've heard international as well. I'm also curious about the CoP's. If I were to go to other countries and expect to jump, would I be able to show them my CSPA and CoP and the manifest me?

I'm just cruious how "transferrable" the CSPA licenses are.

I looked on the forums but found nothing relating directly to this question.

Thanks for all the info!

The licenses are pretty much transferable everywhere I jumped as a visitor. They may have different limitation with the Solo and A licences, but once you have your B, its pretty straight forward. When in doubt, call the DZ you are planning to visit just to make sure about that, reserve cycle duration and Insurance.

Yes, insurance is a big issue.
When I jumped in Europe, DZOs were more concerned about medical insurance.
Since I was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, they took that as proof of medical coverage.

Any Canadian civilian skydivers - planning to skydive overseas - should also purchase supplemental travellers' insurance.

Hey Chris,

I haven't had any trouble in the few places I have gone in the States, but some do require a USPA membership. Alot offer a temporary membership good for the duration of your vacation... I can talk to you more about it this weekend.

Hey Ross,
How'd you know it's me, haha. I'm not the only Chris out there am I? Damn. I really can't afford to go anywhere as of yet, but just curious as to the "transferability" of a CSPA license. I noticed you also have a USPA license, for what purpose is that? I just see people with CSPA and USPA licenses and it makes me curious.

P.S. - Since you left, I got my solo, working on my A, and bought gear. Haven't got it yet but can't wait to jump it. (Gotta get a few more jumps on smaller canopies before Trevor will let me jump it, hehe. Sabre 135). Melissa also got her solo, not sure if you were there when she got it.
