pacncathyjr 0 #1 June 30, 2006 Ok, I am setting up a web page for my mom's soon to be dropzone. What are some of the top skydiving pages and why do you think they are so good?

NWFlyer 2 #3 June 30, 2006 Many dropzone web sites are really, really awful... Some of the common problems: Too busy/too many photos (or too many that aren't well-organized) Not updated often enough/out of date information Broken links Difficult to navigate Not clear on who their audience/audiences are I just looked through a few of the Northwest DZs to see if there were any that I particularly liked. Skydive Oregon has a pretty clean design, actually. http://www.skydiveoregon.com/"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
MB38 0 #4 June 30, 2006 On the high-end of design, I like Perris's site. It's very clean, has a bunch of media [pictures/video = good] and is easy to use. Parts of it are a little redbull, but it's still nice.I really don't know what I'm talking about.
shaiziel 0 #5 June 30, 2006 Websites that are friendly to those on dial up are nice. It's possible to have an awesome looking website that loads in less than 3 minutes on 56k. But something makes me think you won't be getting much into Flash.---------------------------------------- 6.8% - Almost there!

kenneth21441 0 #7 June 30, 2006 Best rule is KISS Keep it simple. Add what you want to say but dont include too much information like jumpers names, special news releases, etc.. A basic of one to three photos of Tandem, AFF, etc of what you offer with a brief detail of what services are offered. A map and/ or contact info is a must have. A must have is a email news letter where you can get the visitors to sign up and receive a weeklyu/ montly update by way of email. Such as jump days, special news and events etc.. This will help to limit the download speed by reducing the content and allow you to have a customer base to work with. Hope this helps.... some..with some ideals..Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

pacncathyjr 0 #11 July 12, 2006 The page is www.jumpjax.com please PM me and tell me what you think we could change to make the page better!
steveorino 7 #12 July 13, 2006 Good info but as an artist, I prefer a graphic art look. Basically that is an image that can be sliced up and the slices are used for navigation. Nothing fancy, but something besides text and photos. See my web page for example.www.Xtreme-Visuals.com steveOrino
