Skyride staking a partnership with another DZ

Recommended Posts

Or something to that effect. Since they couldn't get Tullahoma, they went after Clarksville Skydiving Association northwest of Nashville near the KY border.

They're trying to keep it on the down-low.

Well now I'm pulling the cat out of the bag. Vote with your wallets and go elsewhere. :P

What legitimate DZ's will they be competing with?

The DZ locator feature on here shows two DZs within 100 miles... Skydive Nashville which is in south central KY (surprise!) and Paris, TN off to the west.

From what I am told by folks I used to jump with at Fort Campbell, they are putting an Otter at Outlaw Field (Yep, that's its name. Named after a real guy, not a gang). Aim is probably to fill the void left by the Fort Campbell Sport Parachute Activity which closed in 2004 after being active at Campbell since 1958.

I just wish somebody else and not Skyride was doing it. [:/] But hey, if they want to make a deal with the devil, that's their problem.

They should be shot untill dead with a ball of their own shit. And then someone should steal their phone number.

I was disappointed and happy to find out that my dropzone is one of the only in Ontario not to take the gift certificates.

A better idea is for all of the up jumpers to get together and jump there. Skyride is in the Tandem business, not the up jumper business. They will not last long if all they can get is up jumpers. It sounds contradictive to say go there, but it would slow down their ability to jump tandems.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Had to wait a minute so I could see to type. Your logic is flawed but not only in the way the others have pointed out.

They could give a shit about their ability to get tandems in the air. They already have their money. They would rather send them home with a rain check because they know most of those people will never come back.

Back when they were first perfecting their scheme at ASC, they would book twice as many tandem as they knew they could put in the air. KNowing that most of those people would never come back. Not bad money even at a conservative $200 times maybe 100 people on any given Saturday.

Well, it was only 2 cents worth. But that's about all it was. Either way, the wuffos are going to get ripped off and skydiving gets another black eye. And I really don't think there's going to be a way to stop that from happening until something happens at a higher level like the federal level. Then I think they will still try to thumb their noses at the feds.

all students that showed up this weekend got to jump. just like any other weekend that the weather is jumpable. We do everything possible to get students in the air. So many of you know nothing of what you talk about. But anyway, you guys rip away now.
I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

Nashville Skydiving is in Russellville, Ky. But the owner started just north of Nashville, Closer than Clarksville. But with increasing air traffic, he moved to Russellville, but since he actually had the business license under the name "Nashville Skydiving" for over 20 years before moving, so the name stuck. I can see where the contradiction would come in to play there, but he is a legitimate non-skyride DZ. He is a tandem and student primary DZ, so up-jumpers won't get much action there.

KY would be an improvement over the dry gouging they have been doing.

I just wanted to let you know that your humor did not go un-noticed. Good one. ;)

But what would you have done if it had been?

I would have been hooped. It's the only place I can skydive really.

It wouldn't be the first time I gave money to someone that pissed me off because I'm addicted to their service and won't be the last either. I pay taxes and fill my car with gas too, despite knowing that I don't like where the money is going. It's the honest answer.

So, tell us... Did the guys at Skyride decide Prattville wasn't worth a shit anymore and decided to take their investment to Tennessee? Even your forums seem to have been abandoned, because the porn spammers are running rampant in a couple of subforums there.

Edited to add: Oh yeah, all posts in General Discussions seem to have been deleted going back to December 3, 2007. Something funny going on over there?

actually I think the moderators just like porn

Thanks for taking an interest though, I think you read ASC's forum more than the people that jump there.

Ah... so you have no comments on whether or not the Prattville DZ is being closed for good?

Oh and by the way, you read the forums here too, and you post on both forums. I don't.

I was just wondering when to open that bottle of champagne to celebrate Skyride's exit from Alabama. :D
