Goodbye "Skydiving Magazine"?

Recommended Posts

I received this today:

"Hi, April --

We have suspended the magazine -- indefinitely. January was our last issue.

Mike has been publishing the magazine for about 30 years and I have been here for more than 22 years, so we are both looking forward to exploring new options -- and maybe taking a little down time.

It's been nice working with you, April. Thanks for your support.

Sincerely,
Sue Clifton"

Do I get a refund for the unpublished issues?

Wow, I was just about to renew. I'm shocked. Despite the digital age, you can't beat paper in your hand. Plus the world-wide coverage of skydiving and BASE that couldn't be found elsewhere. Shame. :(

Just got off the phone with them.

They mailed refunds to all subscribers for any remaining issues and a note about the suspension.

I for one hope it is a short suspension and that Skydiving Magazine cames back as good as ever soon!

That's a shame - I subscribed for a year and enjoyed it so much that I re-upped for three years. Although the coverage could sometimes border on gossipy, it was nice to have an alternative viewpoint to Parachutist. It will be missed.
