That's exactly what we did in Kansas a few years ago, and now Skyride has just about zero presence in Kansas. Also, all the Kansas DZs are doing as many, or more tandem/student business than they did before we started out doing Skyride.
Some DZOs are simply very poor business people, lazy, afraid that the "other guy" may get one of "their" tandems, the list goes on and on.

OK so what happened to skyride? For those who probably have not noticed they dont seem to exist anymore. We had 2 guys with skyride certs today show up and we could not reach skyride on ANY phone number. They all are apparently not in service. Maybe they are done? Maybe they didnt pay their phone bill?

I've got a question, If sLyride or any other company were to sell a gift certificate to someone in another country and not tell them that they will have to travel to America to get the cert redeemed, if it's possible to get a sLyride certificate redeemed, wouldn't that be some kind of International fraud of some sort?

I think what they didn't pay is their lawyer bill. It seems that their attorneys are wanting to withdraw from representing them. There is an article in this months skydiving magazine explaining about how they owe their lawyers a bunch of money and they want out... They didn't say exactly how much they owe, just that they wanted out and they cited those reasons.

There was an emergency filing in the AZ court in their case with Skydive Arizona that the lawyers won't represent Ben and Cary anymore.
Now maybe B & C know what its like to get fucked in the ass.

Since I know they have been reading here and many of us have been quoted in the suit.
That tightness you are feeling in your back side is the same no KY fucking that many in the skydiving community have gotten over the years, along with many Skyride customers. Oh, lets not forget the ballon,glider,race car driving,day spa,sightseeing and all of the other industries that Ben and Cary have gotten involved in.
Good luck getting your money. When do you think they made the decision to stop paying you. How long do you think they have been hiding their assets?
Edit to add,I bet it was when Cary was still looking you in the eye when he shook your hand and telling you jokes across the conference room table. He's that way you know.
I hope Skydive Arizona gets their money first or I hope it's all gone because they deserve it more then you. Then there is a long list of people that should be in line before you that just didn't have the financial means to fight the battle to get justice. You deserve nothing before Skydive Arizona and if you take money before they get paid you are of the same moral fiber that Ben and Cary are cut from.

Just a thought, I am still researching it, but I'm pretty sure that the PR website is actually sLyride's news website or newspaper if you want to call it that. It does do show up on the whois, it shows that the domain does not exist. But everything I've seen on that website only glorifies sLyride/Thrillplanet/Adventure. I have not seen anything on there that talks about the Ga litigation or Skydive AZ litigation or the other bad press.
I could be wrong about all of this, but so far in dealing with sLyride, if it walks like a Duck, says "AFLAC" like a duck, it's probably gonna be a duck.

I'm not surprised. I've actaully had two of their "Former" web designers contact me. The funny this is that they thought I would be stupid enough to give them full access to my hosting, domains and everything. Needless to say, I didn't go for it. I don't care if someone is former or not, if they either are, or "formerly" affiliated with sLyride, I don't want anything to do with them. It would take a lot of prooving for me to trust someone who has been affiliated with sLyride.

Also if it really happened isnt that illegal and would it not be investigated? If it happened it should be a record of it because they record all those phone calls. I looked into it and it isnt easy to take someones phone number. if it was that shit would happen all the time. Also if it did happen, i wouldnt be surprised if some fanatic didnt do it just to try to screw skyride. As many extremist that are on this site, that isnt far fetched.
Also maybe they should give some of that money to the people that were injured in Chris Martins plane that he crashed due to the inadequate maintenance and the forged maintenance logs. Or maybe they should give it to the family of Mike Mullins murdered wife. Or maybe they should give it to all the families who had love ones that were destroyed by all the drugs that the Nelsons trafficed into the country. Or they should give it to the family of some poor kid that was left passed out floating in a pond with nobody looking out for him. Or they should give it to anybody else that has been really hurt by some real negligent and criminal skydiver.
trust me the list is long.
But maybe you are right, misleading some tandem student into driving a couple of hours out of their way is probably the biggest shame in our sport..........yea right!
There were alot of people that stood by Cary up till the time of this incident. He just didn't know what was too far. The person that knew the most about this was Beezy Shaw. Unfortunately he is dead. I'll let yarak call Chris Martins widow and call her a liar.
As I recall nothing was done because they could not prove who made the call to transfer the number. Had it come down to it though they would have thrown one of their employees under the bus like they did when the city of Roswell went after them for all of the bumper stickers they paid someone to place all over town. That right folks, they turned in the person they hired to put the stickers all over town.

Why not set up lots of websites (sure there is a small cost) then get some good search engine optimiser to get up there on the top of google, and then Tandem's will come flooding in to the DZO's directly rather than via skyride...
