Skydive Twin Cities. (actually in Baldwin, WI - just past Hudson)

I trained there almost 15 years ago. It is a very nice dropzone.

I have never heard of Minnesota Skydiving. Looks like a skyride website and no address. BEWARE OF ANY WEBSITE THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU A PHYSICAL ADDRESS. I don't think Minnesota Skydiving exists (as a dropzone).

Good Luck.

I am from Minnesota, there is no MinnesotaSkydiving, I'm going with skyride (steer clear). I did my AFF at Skydive Twincities and felt I had good training, and it is still my primary dz in the summer months. I would also recommend checking out Skydive Minnesota (it's in Milaca, just east of St. Cloud, www.skydiveminnesota.org), Wissota (in Chippewa Falls, WI, www.skydivewissota), Skydive Superior (Superior, WI, www.skydivesuperior), and Waseca (Waseca, MN, www.mnskydive.com).

There is also a new DZ opening in Winsted, MN, called West Side Skydivers. I beleive the open date is May 1st, and they are going to be using the AFP model for instruction of new students.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.

With Westside Skydivers opening this spring, we have a great variety of DZ's in the area. All are very good, offering a variety of ways to get involved in the sport. Take a trip to each one and look around.

They lay out like this...

North of the Twin Cities… Skydive Minnesota (Milaca,MN) http://www.skydiveminnesota.org
South of the Twin Cities… Minnesota Skydivers Club (Waseca, MN) http://www.mnskydive.com
East of the Twin Cities… Skydive Twin Cities (Baldwin, WI) http://www.skydivetwincities.com
....................................Skydiver Wissota (Chippewa Falls, WI) http://www.skydivewissota.org
West of the Twin Cities… Westside Skydivers (Winstead, MN) http://westsideskydivers.com

I think you'll find that the problem is not which one to jump at, but rather, which one don't I want to go to this week. All have great people, great facilities, and unlimited potential for fun. Welcome to the sport!

I have heard good reports about the Waseca folks. The only negative about the airport is wind and season dependent. It's not far from a water treatment plant and can get pretty pungent under the right conditions.

Blue skies and clean air! ;)

If you think you are able to be close to both Milaca and Waseca....you might get a Minnesota map :P (it's a few hours driving between the two)

I think any of these DZs will do a good job for you.

As you note - I'd recommend visiting a few of them and see which atmosphere best matches what you are looking for and make a choice based on that.

In other words, contact the DZs directly, visit, ask questions and make your decision.

It also depends on when you want to start - if it's asap - your choices are narrowed down for the next month or so

I'm doing my aff at skydive twin cities the last weekend of April! I did a tandem there last September and had a blast even when just hanging around waiting for my jump. The good thing about twin cities and the new west side place is that they are open 6-7 days per week

I am the owner of Westside Skydivers, JumpinJoe- Joe Johnson. I am using the AFP model of training which includes video of all your training jumps. I am very excited to start training students with this program because I feel it gives so much more for the student to work with, being all the jumps are video taped for debrief and planning for the next jump. The video is included in the cost of the jump, you don't pay extra. I left to start my own DZ to concentrate on customer service and really giving the students an experience they will remember. B|
