Its a cool video.

At one point a female voice says "jump from a hot air balloon at the edge of space"

Dunno if it matters for the purposes of the video, but the balloons they use for those altitude records aren't hot air balloons. They are gas filled.

Hot air balloons are filled with hot air.
the balloons used for the high altitude jumps typically use helium.

Hot air balloons cant reach even a fraction of the altitude.

Hot air is still a gas, but whatever.

You can "whatever" all you like, Andy :)

You are obfuscating. I can do that too.

Hot air is not "a gas".
Its a mixture of several gasses.
Mostly nitrogen, some oxygen, and trace amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases, as well as some water vapor.

Regardless, a "Hot Air Balloon" is a very specific type of aircraft, and its NOT the type being used for the high altitude attempts.

So
some footage I used it's from an Nasa's experiment called Project Excelsior 1959/1960
That guy Joseph Kittinger passed through atmosphere about 31 Km altitude by Helium Baloon (so you right !).
If I remember right, after him others try to do something similar, but all of them died.
Anyway I liked to use those frames, in that way, just for editing reasons

But of course I aggree with your remark

So I guess a balloon filled with that mixture would be "gas filled" eh?

You guys are killin me. I more than adequately clarified the point I was trying to make. Whats more, the point was valid.
The OP wanted to know what we thought of the video, so I pointed out that
that particular audio clip was not accurate. I wasn't trying to be a dick.
They did not and will not use hot air balloons for those high altitude jumps.

Bill, I KNOW that you knew exactly what I meant even before I clarified it. :)
Is this the Brady Bunch episode where we all have to live by exact words? :S

Don't you hate arguing with 'tards?:D:D

I guess I deserve it by allowing myself to be diverted from the point of my
original post and being inaccurate and lazy in my use of the language.

The irony is that these are exactly the kinds of errors I would harass others for making.

I've been hoist by my own petard (speaking of tards :)
