California isn't another country

Ummhhh...I know a lot of people who would disagree with that statement on more than one point! ;)

Hi Jim,

Are you sharing this list with USPA? I remember getting a post on the crwdog email list that USPA were collecting state records, but what I saw on their website was nowhere near as informative as what you have collected here...

Don't know if USPA has looked at this list, but since we have not had many changes in awhile, I have posted the list as the "Unofficial Records" on BigWays.com and TexasStateRecord.com.

Thanks to everyone who contributed and has helped keep the list current. Gave you all a plug on the website!

Jim

USPA started issuing "official" state records in 2006. The list is at http://www.uspa.org/competition/pg2/staterecordsbystate.htm

So I wonder if they are allowing previous records to be submitted to become "official". Looking at Oklahoma's records that may be the case. If I am reading it correctly. Does that mean we could submit the attached jump? It was the first 7 way over Texas. Completed in Sept. 1968, photo by Jerry Schrimsher. I think Sherry was a judge by then. Of course she was two weeks away from giving birth to my brother.:(;)

Why not? Just have her sign it off, cough up the bucks, and have the Regional Director send it in.
Lots of states out there have no records -- start sending in those four-ways. ;)

Ok all, let's start a controversy! Last time I looked, New England was not a state. If the DZ is in Mass, it is a Mass state record.

Last time I looked the head of state of Puerto Rico was the president of the US:P

Unofficial records updated through 4/28/07. Please let me know if you have any new updates.

FYI: The new USPA State Record Rule 12-3 requires a notice of the record attempt within 72 hours of the attempt and a record application filed not later than one week after the attempt.

Information required is a roster of the jumpers on the successful attempt that includes names, Parachute Association No. (USPA, CSPA, BPA, etc.), Association Membership No., Membership Expiration Date, and Gender.

Also required are type of jump/category, size, location of jump, and signatures of S&TA and Judge or USPA board member.

Blue skies,

Jim

US big way records are generally open to the best jumpers since they are not considered "National" records like most other countries. It is more "the largest [insert formation category here] formation record over {insert state here]".

I inquired once about the Mexican record and was told it is a national record and has to be all Mexican. Ditto for the Canadian and German records.

Blue skies,

Jim

Do we need another category added, to include sequential records such as

"RWS-Relative Work Sequential" such as "Florida RWS 2-point 139"

Also there is a new CRW record of 36 over Spain on 31 May 2007, details here...http://www.skydiveempuriabrava.com/noticies2.php?id=2&idnoticia=52
