Existing State and National Records

Recommended Posts

The Irish National RW Record is now 30, with this 30-way Shamrock-shaped formation, built on Monday 6th August 2007 using a Skyvan and Porter at 15,000ft.

The criteria for a National Record here, is for all jumpers to be either Irish Nationals or Northern Irish Nationals - or other nationalities who have more than 50 jumps in Ireland and more than 6 months jumping here...basically true Irish or ex-Pat's who are now living and jumping here.

GordonH says "I'm particularly interested in European big-way FS records - any idea what they are in France, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden etc?" He wants to persuade dz management to host another record attempt. Can anyone post the new records?

Blue skies,

Jim

Gee, Gordon, how can you stand having all-local Norgie, Swede and German teams beat you? When you decide to rectify the situation be sure to let me know!

Maybe we ought to segregate the records between "National RW Records" (all country residents) and "Largest RW Records". This would help to clear up some of the confusion.

That sounds good. The UK and Ireland records both had 'National' defined as anyone who has that country as their Nationality + foreigners who now live and regularly jump in the country.

I was just wondering... if Tibet filed for a new record, would that piss China off? :D

Sorry for the hijack, carry on...

Australia completed a 25-way CRW diamond under guidance of Chris Gay. This was at Skydive Ramblers at Toogoolawah last year. I'm not sure of the exact date, but it was before I got there in April 2007. I think that all of the Aussies from the world record were part of it, so they could give you more information if you need.

Canada completed a 21-way CRW diamond a month or two ago out at Eden North, organized by Lyal Waddell.

Unofficial Records were updated at http://www.texasstaterecord.com/Unofficial_Records.htm.

Thanks everyone. Please keep posing your changes as they occur.

Blues,

Jim

The US VRW (69), POPS (113), SOS (43), JOS(12, I believe) and JOE(5) are all out of date (Jim, weren't you a plane captain on the POPS113 way)?

United States FS-300; WFS-151; VWR-53; FS POPS-110; FS SOS-33; FS JOS-11

Illinois SOS - 18 way.

Thanks for posting this thread. A couple of us few women skydivers in Idaho have taken notice that there is no Women's record and are going to try to set one at Star, Idaho the weekend of the 10th of October. We're looking at jumping Friday, Saturday and Sunday if we havne't gotten it done by then. Any women out there who'd like to make a trip here and give us a hand?
