imfalling 0 #1 December 16, 2010 Anyone know if there is a record for fastest flat fly speed? Just cracked 291kph (180.8mph) today in baggy pants and a wing jacket. Thinking 300+ wouldnt be too hard in a tight fitting suit! Previous best was 276kph, on my belly with people comfortably flying head up with me :) Cheers

Even sports jump footage cannot be used. It's BS. I almost lost my job for uploading footage of my first mal. I have a photo of my N3 displaying the speed (@ 12k) after the jump that I can upload - but that doesnt prove I was on my belly at the time of the recorded speed. I know I did it, wouldn't post it otherwise.

Joellercoaster 6 #7 December 16, 2010 I'm not a tank by any stretch so I'm sure there are people who can go a lot faster. But my best average (exit to deployment) was 165mph. skyrider 0 #9 December 16, 2010 We didnt have anything to record speed when I blew my back out, but I was filming just under 600 pounds of tandem and we were Hauling ass! Due to blowing out a disc while doing so, I wouldn't recommend trying to go that fast on your belly, it isn't worth it!
JohnRich 4 #10 December 16, 2010 QuoteAnyone know if there is a record for fastest flat fly speed? Just cracked 291kph (180.8mph) today in baggy pants and a wing jacket. And how did you do that? Were you wearing weights? Do you weigh 400 lbs.? Can you arch so hard that you're bent in half? Was it a drogueless tandem? Color me skeptical... QuoteThinking 300+ wouldnt be too hard in a tight fitting suit! I assume you're talking here of kph, and not mph. You are not going to get 300 mph on your belly. That's very hard to do even head-down.

SlipstreamBRO 0 #14 December 16, 2010 Well there's your first problem...Never trust your neptune for speed. I have one jump showing I was doing 283 MPH head up and a bunch of others showing above 200 MPH on my belly. So, don't go by your alti. I highly doubt you hit 180 on your belly, no matter how fat the tandem was.

VTmotoMike08 0 #18 December 16, 2010 I heard a rumor once that Craig Gerard could lay on the net on his belly at the Arizona tunnel when it was running at 100%. Don't know what that equates to speed wise but its gotta be smokin. He's really fit too, and apparently super flexible.

I would think a HIGHLY EXPERIENCED skydivin man who thinks he can actually fall at 330 MPH ( and not burble spoof the Protrack), would show up to an International Speed Skydiving World Cup meet and PROVE it against the best in the world.
