copyrights-infringement all over the place

Recommended Posts

got this video from an upcoming skybrother about a dodgy pyramid-scam, snowball-chain-thingy..

let's see how many of you claim sequences of those video's to be theirs, i'm absolutely SURE, i've seen at least one clip that is being marketed for "isagenix". also, "ISA", is a swiss brand known for their underwear. i bet they would mind too!

so, here goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG-Wy4IeB9w

Point? if it is on Youtube, ya pretty much gave it away, unless it is legally copy righted!

Everything created post 1989 is "legally copyrighted."
Filling out an SR or GR/VA is more or less a waste of time for the average creative, but copyright is fixed the instant the work exists in a tangible form (ie; hard drive, tape, or paper).

Skydiving has its fair share of copyright infringements. Think of all that background music used in tandem videos that is SOLD to the student.

I know some of the people involved in this. I'm not going to comment on the copyright stuff and don't want to make any judgments on "ISA Adventure Team" as a whole but I do think it's unfortunate that MLM/Pyramid scheme shit is being associated with skydiving. When skydivers/BASE jumpers use their sports as a promotional tool to fleece people of their money it hurts the image of parachuting in general.

I guess it's not obvious from that video but the founder of the ISA group has been knee-deep in various MLMs for quite a while. I'm not sure if ISA itself is a MLM (or just a vehicle to steer people towards MLM) but if you go to their website and click the "wealth" button it basically reads like a pitch for another pyramid scheme.

Let me know if this is invalid.
Philosophy

The Taurus™ World Stunt Awards honor the movie industry's unsung heroes, the world's best stunt professionals. They risk their lives to perform the most daring stunts that bring action and excitement to the movie-going public.

The Taurus™ awards go to the industry's best and brightest stunt people for extraordinary performances in feature films. Selected and voted by the members of the Taurus™ World Stunt Academy, who are all in the Stunt industry themselves, the winners are not only recognized for their contribution to the film industry, but also honored by their own peer group, the Academy members.

In addition, all are eligible to apply for financial assistance from the Taurus™ World Stunt AwardsTM Foundation. Members that have been hurt or disabled in a work related accident are eligible and are encouraged to log onto the website and fill out an application for the Taurus Foundation.

The Taurus™ World Stunt Awards were envisioned by Red Bull Energy Drink CEO Dietrich Mateschitz and benefits the Taurus™ World Stunt Awards Foundation.

That is a going to be an increasingly important problem as less and less CD and online 'sales' take place, The music companies need thier coin from somewhere so...

I'm glad I have good royalty free music to use, thanks to the realXstream editing program that I am using..

I have seen companies actually advertise for 'choose your own music' which I find is quite an magnet for legal problems.

mike's a really cool and nice guy; i like him a lot!
how's the latest version anyway, he told me all sorts of good stuff about it..

and stacey, it is kind of very obvious that it IS a pyramid-scam.. i got a lot of respect for you, but if you're anything smart.. well, you get the idea!

I fly for a living, and when I'm stuck sitting at a Fixed Base Operation waiting for people to show I'll pick up one of the various magazines that markets itself to the ultra rich decadent lifestyle (Jetset, Elite Traveler, etc). More often lately I'm seeing ads for things like this, adventure clubs designed to be exclusively available to the people of means with a sense of adventure. I can't remember if ISA is the one I saw last night.
