The cutter is not manufactured by Aviacom - they purchase them from another company. There are lots of makes and models of cutters on the market - if Aviacom and the cutter manufacturer cannot sort out the problem with these cutters, they can easily switch to a different model, or even a different manufacturer. Cutters are easily replaced in the field. I am wondering what the hell to do: Let's see : 1) Sell it before it starts loosing value and buy a Vigil or a Cypress. 2) Keep it and hope problems sort out (cutters replaced ...blah...blah) or let it loose value (in case things really go bad) and throw it away. Javelin service bulletin bans Argus AAD from all their containers/harness until Argus shows an understanding of the root cause of the problem and a viable solution. If it turns out that a different cutter design is the final outcome (replacement of all cutters), either they will require their customers to buy a new cutter (very bad for customer good will), or the company takes a huge financial hit. Customer good will for the Cypres took a hit when they announced the limited lifetime after they were introduced to the market (it did happen after, didn't it?) What was supposed to be the advantage of a cylindrical cutter? I would have thought that the designers would have had a tough time justifying a new design for the cutter.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. PhreeZone 15 #25 March 23, 2011 Cylindrical was to may it so that if the cutter was installed at a 90 degree angle on accident by the maker it would still cut the loop is how I had it explained to me by a few people. I hope Argus pays for the cost but no matter what it might be several months until they have made enough replacement cutters to meet the demand for all the units in the field if its determined to replace all the cutters.
