So, how far do you drive?

Recommended Posts

I am curious. How far do you generally drive to get to your closest DZ?

My closest DZ is 250km from home, there is however no guaranties that they are operational when I get there, they weren't the last three months. This forced me to travel to other DZ's and they are all between 400 and 480km from home.

Make me jealous ;) or share in my pain [:/]

4200 miles :D

I live in the UK, but travel to the US for business which is when I get a chance to jump. So STF is my "home" dz. I don't have BPA membership so I can't jump in the UK.

I suppose technically Spain is my closest DZ as Empubravia is USPA affiliated.

It takes me about 10-15 minutes to get out to Lodi depending on traffic, 25-30 minutes to get out to Byron and about an hour if I want to go to either Skydive Sac or Skydance. There are others around, but I have not timed those yet.

Exactly 98miles which is 158km takes usually about 1:30 to drive which is my home DZ and closest

Next closest DZ is a 3hr drive or around 165miles

I couldn't imagine being less than 30min from a DZ.......:)

About 90 minutes to two turbine dzs for me, however... Now that Skyride is long gone from the airport where my home DZ was before they took over, a few good friends and I still get together for some mid-week jumps out of the ol' C-182 :)
