Boobies! :)

Best fad ever. I don't think they'll ever go out of style. :)

YMMV Depends on the DZ.:(

After T.O. One nice lady wanted to flash the pilot land without her top or nude. had to tell her if the DZO caught her she might be gone. :o

BTW Not the DZO.

Actually learning how to fly on your belly before sit/head down/freefly.

If you're stable at pull time then that's not an issue surely.

I don't' think anybody really cares, more of a tongue in cheek thread.

You do make some good points though...

haha i realize that most of it is tounge in cheek, but just point out that these "fads" arent a bad thing, because they lay the foundation for future advancements, be it in cameras or skydiving hardware. some are also preferences rather than just fads (ie. go pro over contour) etc. haha

Well...yeah they CAN lay the foundation for future advancements ...and then again, they can also show that reinventing the wheel isn't always the best way to go. ;)

or just show you another way not to make a lightbulb and not that the wheel cant be reinvented :P

keeping an idea simple is always best until we can get its improvement as simple as possible. theres a fine line between improving function and complicating things without reason. the unforgiving platform of skydiving makes this even more important and with enough jumps might even point out the flaws of a new idea more quickly.

its good to want to stay simple but that doesnt mean smothering potential ideas.

gopros are a prime example, before gopros (or other small format cameras) jumpers were forced to jump with more cumbersome setups if they wanted to capture a jump. are there improvements that could be made to the gopro to make it less of a "snag hazard" sure, but if we hadnt seen the gopro in its "snag hazard" form by it going through many jumps it wouldnt have come to anyones attention. now the next generation of skydiving cameras may address this problem. a byproduct of the reduced weight/cost/complexity is many jumpers who arent ready to jump a camera trying to jump a gopro because of its "set it and forget it" look. that doesnt mean it isnt a perfectly handy camera to use for experienced jumpers. its seems like some people just naysay the smaller format cameras in general because so many people do use them. im not sure just an idea.
