MakeItHappen 15 #1 February 20, 2013 http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/spo/3616064537.html I ran across this the other day. It looks suspicious to me. Already checked with USSOCOM Parachute Team. They wore RW&B jumpsuits a long time ago. .. Make It Happen Parachute History DiveMaker
davelepka 4 #2 February 20, 2013 I don't know, the ad is informative with plenty of details and correct 'lingo'. There is no attempt to conceal the identity of the 'model', or the indentifying marks on the suit. Combine that with the age of the suits, and it looks like someone is just cleaning out their closet. Actually seems like a good deal for 3 barely used, name-braind suits.
davelepka 4 #3 February 20, 2013 I read it again, I guess 'leather head cover' is a little odd, especially for an old-shcool jumper who should know what a 'frap hat' is.
MakeItHappen 15 #4 February 20, 2013 Well, it's suspicious.... They're selling the jumpsuit and helmet or frap hat as a set. The jumpsuits look older than one YO. The model doesn't fit the jumpsuits. Who would sell that on craigslist? Ebay would be better for that type of stuff. It looks like jumpsuits may be from 3 different people. If it's legit ok, but if it's stolen then maybe the owner can see it and get it back. .. Make It Happen Parachute History DiveMaker
3mpire 0 #5 February 20, 2013 True story a fellow jumper saw a craigs list add that looked funny and when I looked at it I recognized the jump suit, contacted the jumper to ask if she was selling her suit, and found out someone had stolen her gear bag a few weeks prior. Cops showed up and recovered her gear. So better to ask the question just to be safe

Some younger jumpers have probably never seen a frap hat, much less know what they are called .

oldwomanc6 38 #15 February 21, 2013 QuoteCan I have access to your magic? I'm getting "deleted...." Just checked it. Still there. Copied link directly from page: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/spo/3616064537.html Hopefully, it will work. I have 3 gently used women's skydiving jumpsuits - all 1 year old (or less). I was previously a member of a military parachute demonstration team back east and one of the jumpsuits has the team name embroidered on the left side (Special Operations Command Parachute Team). I am 5'8" and weigh 130 lbs. There is still room left in each of the suits for someone taller and/or heavier. The suits are: Michigan Suit: Black with dark blue grips and booties - complete with helmet - all in excellent condition; Tony Suit: Black with fuchsia grips - leather head cover (black & fuchsia stripes) - all in excellent condition; Military Issue: Blue with red/white stripped grips - leather head cover ( blue & red stripes) - seat has some worn patches. These suits hold a lot of fond memories for me - but it's time to give them a better home. Will mail. DiverMike 5 #25 February 21, 2013 I made an offer on them yesterday. She sent an email to me indicating "Sorry - I just sold them". Could be legit. I don't think a scammer would bother to send that email. If someone on DZ.com bought them, hopefully they will clue us in. Edited for grammar. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
