"Tandem bounty", aka free slot for bringing a tandem. Does your DZ do it?

Just curious to see how widespread that is. Most of the DZs I've jumped at do it, but not sure if that's luck or if it's really a fairly universal thing.

I heard that this exists at my dz, never had the chance to try it though. At another dz i worked at they gave out free jumptickets if you brought a tandem, but really didn't want to actually ;-)

They do it at my DZ, but it isn't 1:1. I think you have to bring in 2 tandems to get a free jump. There's a stamp card.

We do it. But you only get 5k slot. With our jump ticket prices, profit margin is too thin for full alti ticket.

Tandem bounty or not bringing business to the dz is a good way to make nice with the DZO.

On the flip side bringing fat smelly male tandem students that are an ounce or two below the weight limit is a good way to make frenemies with your local tandem instructors.

I've seen DZ's do that all the way back to static line days. It's cool if your DZ does, but the ones I jump at don't. I think it's only if the DZ really needs that much more business that it would make sense to offer it.

We seem to have enough business just walking in the front door.

My DZ does it. The customer gets 10-15% or so off of their tandem, and the fun-jumper who brought them gets a $10 referral credit. I've gotten a few, myself

Mine does not. I agree with the narrow profit margin comment, that probably has something to do with it. It's really good for the sport though if you think about it, those I've brought in for tandems post on facebook and tell their friends, and that plants a little seed. A small percentage of those seeds germinate, etc., etc.

Mine does it and the tandem also gets the cheapest rate that is offered, i.e., the same rate they advertise for bringing in a group of 15 on a Wednesday.

My home DZ used to but they ended it about 6 years ago. No biggie - we have a Frequent Faller program that's even better!

My dz does it. Worked great for me when i was still on rental gear had to bring two along for a free jump. One for rental the other for tha slot.

Deland does it. I have scored like 5 or 6 free jumps so far. But they only do it if you bring them a first timer. They have to have never jumped before. Working on all my land loving friends one at a time

Make X number of jumps per year and receive X number of free jumps the following year. For a jump to count towards the total it has to be a fun jump, not a working jump.

Giving something of value (depending on the size of the DZ) to a customer who brings you new customers is not just good business, it's good form. Those DZOs that do nothing are not just being cheap-ass, they're acting low class.
