nigel99 288 #1 Posted September 6 (edited) I’m a bit surprised that I haven’t seen more parallels drawn between Project 2025, Trump, Musk and Vance. Reproductive control, Department of Government efficiency and the like. It’s almost like it’s the Trump playbook. My dad always said that ‘Bean counters’ running engineering firms and utilities was a disaster. Trying to put someone like Musk in charge of Government efficiency seems like a recipe for short term gain and long term pain. It’s incredible to see the shift in the US landscape in less than 20 years. The land of the free, has a large percentage of the population hankering for an authoritarian regime - Russia is no longer the boogeyman but the role model for them. Anybody who’s loosely followed the shit-show that has been Musk’s Twitter/X takeover should be real concerned at the prospect of him heading up any kind of government efficiency agency…

Just wait until he demands $50 billion for doing almost nothing.
Phil1111 1,077 #4 September 6 Nothingburgers! Wait till RFK Jr., Musk and Trump all sit together to decide the direction of America with the 2025 plan in front of them. Mexico and Canada will both start building walls.

Hi Nigel, Re: My dad always said that ‘Bean counters’ running engineering firms and utilities was a disaster. As a ret'd engineer, I agree with your dad. The bean counters have to bound the technical solution (which may not exist within the bounds), while the engineers have to understand the reasons for those boundaries. Otherwise you end up with runaway changes and costs (been there, seen it, been part of it -- and not on the bean side...) Wendy P.

Wendy P. it is almost like most organizations are really a wheel with multiple spokes. Now removing one spoke, any spoke, doesn't collapse the wheel, but it does weaken it.
