Well...my skydiving career is officially over...

Recommended Posts

Because I'm getting married after I proposed on a skydive yesterday. Enjoy...

I totally failed on the jump though. The plan was to propose in freefall with a sign, and then meet her on the ground to make it official. Unfortunately, the sign blew apart on exit (my fault), so we had to do the failsafe option on the ground. There's a link in the video that shows what happened to the sign. Aside from the sign blowing up, everything else went according to plan as far as I can tell, and I managed to keep it secret for several weeks while the ring was made and the planning was ongoing.

Ugh...good point. You just made me realize how bad the wedding is going to break my bank account.

Her family = Newfies
My Family = Irish/French
My friends = Skydivers

Normal Wedding Beer + Newfies + Skydivers (free beer) + Irish + French = $25,000 is alcohol costs before gettign cakes, flowers, photographer, rental, ceremony etc....

Dammnit!

Newfies AND French... that should be a GREAT party! Congrats!
Why drive myself crazy trying to be normal, when I am already at crazy?

Congratulations. And keep the ball-and-chain jokes coming. Wives love those.

No problem! I'll share my medical appointment info then.

I scheduled my balls to be surgically removed on Thursday. Is Thursday a good day for that? (just kidding - just another ball and chain joke).

Haha, thanks for all the insight, opinions, congrats and warnings everyone!

I'll put 5 bucks on that with you. The only reason I'd consider "pausing" jumping is for financial reasons, health reasons, or kids. I wouldn't want to leave her alone raising kid(s) if something happened to me.

At this point in time, whether I do 10 jumps a year, or 1000...I'm not quitting and she supports this. She knows my position and that's that.
