STC 182

Recommended Posts

Hi,

After the various posts, without concrete answers, we want to buy a skydive door or have our original door of our C182J modified in order to have the STC or an activity authorization with an artisanal door...

We are in Africa and we want a quick, simple and inexpensive procedure.

Thank you for your feedback.

What is the procedure in Botswana(?) for aircraft modifications?
What does the aviation authority there require?

I know that where I am (in the US), the procedure is well laid out.
The Federal Aviation Administration needs to approve ANY modifications.
Their approval is given on proof that the modification doesn't cause any problems.

Actual approval can range anywhere from the FAA conducting a quick inspection to documented testing of thousands of hours of live testing.

Many places accept FAA approval (STC) because they know and trust the FAA process.

Without knowing exactly what the aviation authority (ministry?) where you are requires, any anwer you get here will be a guess.

Thank you for your response.

Here it validates the FAA or EASA STC.

We need a contact who could make a homemade jump door or modify a stock door for the 182J. We need a jump door and a paper that authorizes the gate for jumps for 4 skydivers.
