JoeWeber 2,625 #1 Posted August 5 I was stoked to watch Biles and Richardson do their things, others too but they are my biggies, but it wasn't possible without paying extra for the privilege and jumping through hoops. The idea behind the games is to bring the world together through sport and friendly competition. Paywalls defeat the idea and make a complete joke of it all, that is if the addition of break dancing as a sport hadn't already done that.

Thankfully it's televised on the BBC here. Have managed to watch all the things I wanted to - mens MTB being a particular highlight. 3 favourite characters so far American pommel horse specialist who is clearly Clark Kent Turkish pistol shooter/ hitman Pole vaulter who lost coz his "equipment" was too big

The swimming woud have been a hot ticket too - even through the TV the entire crowd shouting 'LEON' every time Marchand's head came up in his breastroke races was insane. To be there would have been something else.

jakee 1,388 #10 August 6 When the American silver medallist cleared 5.90 he damn near tore his shirt off in celebration. Duplantis passed, then sailed over 5.95 with an arm's length to spare and looked faintly annoyed that some miniscule technical detail wasn't quite perfect. He's playing with different gravity to everyone else. Also its great for him that he's on a huge bonus every time he breaks the WR... but that means he only goes 1cm a time. He might reach retirement before he ever finds his limit!
