Hi tk,

What I am reading is that her on the POTUS ticket is energizing the 18-34 yr old voters & black women voters.

These are two groups who easily sit out elections because they do not like the choices.

Jerry Baumchen

And the younger crowd will probably not complain about supplying Israel with weapons because it is her and not some old man.

100% That is how we got Trump in the first place. The DNC cleared the deck and anointed HRC, the most unpopular and polarizing politician in recent history and the only person on the planet who could lose to Trump.

That's all just revisionist history designed, as always, so the right can abdicate any responsibility for the consequences of their own actions. Clinton was a long, long, long way from being the most unpopular politician in recent history when she was nominated... because she was running against Donald Trump, the most unpopular politician in recent history.

Clinton's approval ratings only fell to somewhere near Trump's unheard of lows because the Republicans ran such an effective character assassination campaign, focussed on two things in particular. From a contemporary article "Clinton’s rise in unpopularity follows renewed focus on her use of a private email server and alleged conflicts of interest regarding her connections to the Clinton Foundation while she served as secretary of state."

How ironic is it that because voters fell for the Clinton Foundation smear job, they ended up with a President who is banned from ever being involved with administering a charity? That because they fell for the hysteria over a private email server being used for government business, they ended up with President who stole thousands upon thousands of government documents, then kept them in a club where foreigners and journalists could pay for access and receive briefings on top secret military plans and nuclear secrets?

The US right couldn't possibly be stupid enough to make the same mistake again, could they?

One more time; Popular vote in the 2016 election:

Clinton: 65,853,514

Trump: 62,984,828

Difference: + 2,,868,686 for Clinton.

The people chose Clinton. The last institutional relic of the slavery era chose Trump.

A period of recession is likely. The exact timing is not known. It will bring the drop in interest rates you are speaking of. At a historical level the current rates are not particularly high.

And today the first clear signs of recession have appeared.

Hi folks,

I am of the opinion that this recent prisoner swap is the perfect end of a quite decent political career.

Good for you, Joe.

Thoughts?

In a relay race a smooth handoff is needed to win. In Kamala Harris's first week she raised $200 million and signed up 170,000 volunteers.

Well, there have been 'clear signs of a recession appearing' for a while.

But no actual recession.

I'm guessing you're referring to the unemployment numbers and the Sahm rule (something I just learned about today).
However, even Claudia Sahm questions the validity of it in today's economy:

Quote

Named for former Fed economist Claudia Sahm, the rule holds that a recession is almost always underway already if the three-month average unemployment rate rises by half a percentage point from its low of the past year. It’s been triggered in every U.S. recession since 1970.

But Sahm herself doubts that a recession is “imminent.’’ Speaking before the numbers came out Friday, she said: “If the Sahm Rule were to trigger, it would join the ever-growing group of indicators, rules of thumb, that weren’t up to the task.’’

Link that includes many of the other 'red flags' that haven't borne out:

She is still the Camila Harris ya’all considered unelectable a month ago. She is still the dimwit who let us know that while she has never been to the border as border czar, she hadn’t been to Europe either. Or opined on the passage of time or school buses. Or derangely cackled when she was stumped by a question. I expect her handlers will keep her in the basement when she is not reading a teleprompter and far far far away from any press that is not sycophantic. Fortunately for her Trump is so stupid he can’t engage on the issues and is running the same, now tired, playbook he ran eight (and four) years ago. I’m just hoping the deep state will see us through, whom ever wins.

If there was such a thing as the deep state. It would always prevail and survive till the next political party arrives.

I thought that you might have had a stroke upon learning that Biden stood aside.Or that the new polling suggesting that dems might sweep the house, the senate and the presidency. May have thrown you to the depths of deep depression and denial.

The racist teleprompter crap is so tired and pathetic. I remember that when Obama was running the first time there were jokes flying around by racist nut jobs that he couldn’t even use the bathroom with out instructions on a teleprompter.

Newsflash for you, Donald is still the rapist convicted felon he was a month ago, although maybe slightly more deranged

Turns out we were wrong. Sometimes that happens.

As far as the rest, when you find a perfect candidate, who has never in their life misspoken, and never in their life made a mistake (or something that could be construed as a mistake by their worst enemy and goal-post-mover), alert us.

But she isn't:

  • a rapist
  • a felon
  • banned from running a charity cause she stole from a children's charity

Cuz she wasn't the border czar.  The media just labeled her as such.  You know, the same media you are always making fun of other people for listening to.

She was in charge of taking care of the border problem, the “addressing the root cause”  was a canard to divert attention from her abysmal failure in doing that.

No Bill gave me another time out for the unforgivable sin of thread drift.
