piisfish 137 #1 Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) Sad to read that Our Jarno has apparently had a fatal accident. I do not have the details yet, but the whole video/wingsuit/BASE/skydiving community has lost one of the good ones. BenediktDE 2 #2 January 5, 2023 Terrible news! He was such a positive guy and worked hard to bring wingsuiting forward. Wanted to get in contact again for years to restart flying with some coaching and meet an old friend again. It will never happen. This day brings back a lots of good memories from two decades - but it brings a lot of pain as well. Fly free, Jarno!

freakyrat 1 #8 January 9, 2023 Sorry to hear this as Jarno was so passionate about Wingsuiting and spreading that joy to others. Blue Skies.
jerry81 10 #9 January 9, 2023 He was a true OG, both on dz.com and in wingsuiting. I feel like I was probably checking his instructional videos when figuring out how to backfly my old BM Skyflyer... around 15 years ago.
verticalflyer 11 #10 January 11, 2023 We last spoke on Sunday before the incident, he was happy for 2023 had loads of plans and was living his best life. Very sad loss a very genuine individual.
LloydDobbler 2 #11 January 13, 2023 (edited) Was very sad to hear this last week. Brought back lots of memories of a part of my life when I spent a lot more time on this board. Jarno was a positive force for wingsuiting, and (to me) just an all-around fun dude to be around. We only met at a couple of Flock and Dock events and perhaps a couple of record attempts, but had the same dynamic in person as we did on this board. He'll be sorely missed. Fly free, Jarno. Thanks for all the great jumps (and a couple of really ill-advised ones that are fun to read about in the old logbook...). BSBD. repcool 2 #12 January 14, 2023 Fly Free Jarno. No doubt he helped me take my flying to another level thanks to his tunnel coaching. We didn't always agree on everything but it was always a valuable conversation, and I enjoyed his company when I got a chance.
