They can't do a peaceful transfer of power between themselves, apparently.

Meh. Nobody pooped on the floor, so it was at least 'sort of peaceful'.

It sounds like the 'tantrum throwing toddlers' got almost all of what they demanded.

Wow. Great way to teach them to behave like adults.

You bring up an interesting point. Do you know there were thousands of Drs. retiring because they didn't want to deal with Obamacare? I'd think that was more probable.

https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/doctor-shortages-obamacare-ehr/

An article in a recent issue of the Mayo Clinic Proceedings says that nearly one in five doctors plan to switch to part-time clinical hours, 27% plan to leave their current practice, and 9% plan to get an administrative job or switch careers entirely.

That's a total of 56% Leaving, switching jobs or going part time.

Dear Slim King,

Please consider that the largest single "bump" in North American employment curves are Baby Boomers born between 1946 and 1964, which makes them 77 to 59 years old. By now most 59 year old doctors have earned enough that they can afford to retire. Thousands of doctors, nurses, X-ray technicians, etc. retired during COVID-19. Those that are still on the job are working plenty of overtime and suffering burn-out ... so any  excuse is a good excuse to retire. I don't blame them.

As for the debate between Obama-Care versus Trump's magnificent medical insurance plan versus whatever Biden will come up with ... most of us non-Americans are baffled by how a First-World country can survive without universal healthcare.

Meanwhile, citizens in most other First-World nations (e.g. NATO and the European Union) take universal health care for granted.  And yes, I have some experience with the sort of health care dispensed by a major corporation (Workmens' Compensation Board of British Columbia) and it "bites the green weenie."

I am equally amazed at how major corporations (e.g. American Health Management Organizations) can continue to dupe the working class to fight their battles for them.

In America's game its three strikes and you're out. In Kevin McCarthy's game you strike out until you've handed the whole game to the MAGARepublicans. Well it turns out Kevin is right!

"More than two-thirds of registered Republican voters said in a new CBS News/You Gov poll that they want the party to show at least some signs of loyalty to former President Trump." Other polls show 38% of Republicans are diehard MAGA brownnosers.

The tail wagging the dog has a long, long ways to go yet.

Hi folks,

Now, that it is settled, it looks like the GOP does not want the truth to come out:  The subcommittee . . . is expected to be helmed by Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a combative ally of Trump.

GOP’s ‘weaponization’ panel would have power to review those probing Trump | The Hill

If there ever was an un-biased member of Congress, Jim Jordan is a perfect choice.

NOT!!!!!!

Jerry Baumchen

PS)  And, this for a follow-up:  Trump calls for primary challengers to McConnell, GOP senators who vote with him | The Hill

It would seem as though the Forgotten One does not want to be forgotten.

McConnell was just re-elected 2 years ago and probably won't run ever again. He may not even live out his term.

McConnell will be snorting and rooting in the trough till he's 110. Or until FOX goes woke.Whichever comes first.

He had a triple bypass in 2003. People who have that kind of heart artery disease can do well, but mortality rates are quite high after a ten year period of time because the condition is usually progressive. He is currently 80 years old. Yes, the US Senate is friendly to octogenarians in general.

So the same age as the youthful President Biden then! Yet Biden has a healthy heart. Odd that FOX never mentions McConnell's health problems. Just kidding.
