Elmo certainly likes his polls. Maybe no so much after this one.

I remember a looooong time ago, a regular won a prize that was a trip of some sort (a cruise?).
She put up a poll asking who she should take.

I made the suggestion to then-mod DSE that he should use his 'mod super-powers' to add himself to the poll choices and give himself a million votes.

An hour or so later, one of the options on the poll became "DSE" and, not terribly surprisingly, he had...

One million votes.

Do you believe that Musk won't do something like this?

Note: Also not terribly surprisingly, DSE didn't get to go on the trip.

Sounds like Musk didn't intentionally tip the scales of the poll (at least not enough to make any difference)....Will be curious to see if he actually steps down and, if so, does he just appoint a puppet successor.

He has to step down. His Tesla piggy bank is showing "low charge"

Truth. Around 1996, when businesses started getting websites.

Early to mid 90's when search engines became useful.

Archie wasn't really helpful, but GO, Lycos, and Yahoo were.

I typically don't look for a corporate web presence when searching for their information.

I registered my domain in 99. Damn. Thankfully Google still has me grandfathered in as a corporate account. :D

I think it's a trick to drive activity on Twitter which results in $$ for him.  I am sure he will do something like say "the people have spoken, and I will step down in a few years after everything is running well."

I had to dig through my memory, and figure out what words to search.
It took a couple tries.

A couple 'long lost' names in here.

Some that aren't missed, some that are.

The actual poll disappeared, so you have to get the context of the choices from the posts in the thread.

And it was 500 votes, not a million.

$2 billion buys more than a one time transfer of secret information.

I have a funny feeling that the rest of the classified stuff the Saudis were expecting has been seized by the FBI.

Jared was summoned to explain why they aren't getting all they were promised.
Presuming they were dumb enough to trust a promise from Trump.
