Looks like BoJo will resign today.

Good riddance,

Strange how the politicians/leaders we remember most for their greatness are the ones who were stabbed, literally or figuratively, in the back by their compatriots. Julius Caesar, Churchill, Thatcher...while many of the rest have been consigned to history's dustbin. Unfortunately for the UK, what's going to follow on is far worse than BoJo. The Tories are weak and lily livered. The only other reasonable opposition are run by a millionaire Knight of the Realm (not exactly Labour then) and his harpy minge flashing deputy - and they have only just got rid of a dangerous anti-semitic marxist terrorist sympathiser leader. Things ain't looking up here lol.  This is our 'et tu Brute' moment.

Hey, at least his party is acknowledging his lies and hypocrisy and forcing him out.  Big contrast to the GOP pols, still todying up to Trump.

He cheated in his marriages. Lied his way through life. Tried to silence his fellow party members. But finally did the right thing. His personal sense of entitlement brought him down.

And here I was thinking Brexit was going to give us such a boost  </s>

Hard to admit you've been lied to, isn't it? Because that's all BoJo has ever done.

Cheer up, cousins, you still have the Windsors.

Well you’re clearly an insightful person with rational views that are worth listening to.

Errrrm actually no. He can’t even resign properly.

He’s stepping down as leader of his party but aiming to stay as ‘interim’ Prime Minister until the stories can pick a new leader at their conference in October. This saga is not finished yet.

We're all entitled to our own views and opinions - yes, even you!

Yes indeed, you are entitled to your inane misogynistic dribble.

I’d also add that while BoJo was actually stabbed square in his front, it was for the same reason as Caesar. He was well on the way to destroying every convention and process that makes our system of government work. Unlike with Caesar though, I think they got him in time.

Doesn't the UK have something like impeachment?

If you believe the other misogynists who are trying to cover their tracks. Plus there’s the language. As an illustration, you probably wouldn’t call a black person a n****r just because they made a joke about black culture.

Johnson blames his downfall on the "herd instinct".  There must be a British term for chutzpah as he is a populist.

All in all Macron is an elitist like Johnson. Trudeau is corrupt at his edges. But for the G7 trump still set the gold standard. The GOP is light years away from the UK conservative party.

The US GOP is still in thrall to Trump.  Their senior pols KNOW he is a lying con-man but won't do anything about it because they are cowards.

Two cheers for the UK tories, who finally found the guts to oust their lying leader.

Deleted.

Oh, Nevermind.  I see what you're saying now.  I initially thought you were referring to something else.

The alternative is 9 unelected wizards who try to commune with long dead presidents and read their minds.

(sarcasm font thoroughly on - all the systems are nonsense, the British one just has extra history as well)

Close. The number is six, I'd say.

Its as if the UK Tories are all like Liz Cheney. Conservatives with a backbone and integrity. Instead of power hungry stooges like American conservatives. Well the GOP ones anyway.

Lol, no. They’re not as bad as most of the current Republican Party but nothing happening here is an indication of integrity. The Tory party stood by BoJo and defended through everything, for years, except this. It’s funny that numerous MPs and Ministers publicly calling for his resignation yesterday pointed out that they backed him in the confidence vote after the lockdown party scandal ‘because they believed his promise that things would change’.

Boris will never change. He’s always been the same. A liar and a cheat in every relationship and every job he’s ever had. Fired from his first newspaper job for using fictional quotes and sources. Fired from his first political job for fucking his secretary and lying to his boss about it. Even his teacher at Eton, a private school where pupils are quite literally taught to believe that they are the future leaders of the country, said in a report that Boris was an entitled little shit who was incapable of  understanding that the rules were supposed to apply to him too. And the Tory party tried to ignore it all. They stood with him for years through the cavalcade of lies, fraud, incompetence and cronyism he’s perpetrated from 10 Downing Street because they thought he’d win them the next election.

They haven’t grown a conscience, they’ve just realised that at this rate the voters will have had enough by then, and he’d have dragged them down with him if they’d let him.
