The guy 4 hangars down from Mile Hi has a biplane. He had it out last year, so I ambled on down and talked to him. He says it was built in 1929.

Point of order for the headline writer - aluminium doesn't rust. The rest is good though.

Interesting to think how many jump planes would qualify for tax free classic status if they were cars. And also, just how rubbish most of the cars that were designed around the same time as our aircraft really are compared to current models.

I used to own a 1957 Mooney. Wood wing, wood tail. Never worried much about corrosion - But I was pretty wary about termites
