What rating for flying jump planes

So, I am toying with the idea of getting a rating for flying jump planes - single engine - and was wondering what rating is required? Is there a minimum hours required for flying etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Ken

the OP mentioned this and I was curious as well but they are in the UK... anyone know what is required in the US?

Commercial pilots license and a valid class 2 medical is all you need for a Cessna. 250 hours minimum to get your commercial.

Would this only apply to pilots flying on a BPA drop zone?

I have a friend who a commercial license who teaches PPL locally; theoretically would there be any legal issues if he was to take me up and I was to land on private property?
