Government birds that is. I had not heard of this before. It started as a joke but is showing how conspiracy theories can begin and just take off as people love to feel like they are in on the secret. This is brilliantly illustrated here. Google "birds aren't real" to find out the inside scoop.

Interesting to me is that the guy who started it was raised in a strict christian fundamentalist family and came to reject the beliefs in his teens. Gives me some hope.
