Effeminate as an insult

Recommended Posts

My old friend Truett has been out of sorts lately, since not only did Biden win the election, but Truett lost a lot of money betting he wouldn't.  So he's taken to attacking me whenever possible on Facebook.  He went with "socialist" as an insult for a while.  Then he tried "short."  Then he tried "gay."  Now he's up to "effeminate."

Which is odd.  So he's saying that as a skydiver, I'm no better than  . . . Christy Frikken or Eliana Rodriguez?  I'm no smarter than . . . Farah Laiwallah or Ada Poon?  As a technical leader I am no better than Gwynne Shotwell?  I am no braver than Hannah Betts?

Ah well.  Perhaps he will try "black" next.

He attacks me too.  I just ignore him.

Why do you have people like that on your friends list for so long?

As I have heard some people say here, don't get your panties in a twist over it. They are just channelling their dead hero Rush. Next you will likely be a cuck. Duck cuck.

Just yesterday I comforted one of my friends who was a huge fan of Rush:

"No, no, Will; It was the fear monger who died, not the band!"

;-)

You’re kind of cute when you’re trying to troll. You need to try harder to get a warning, though.

Really Wendy?  Another member calls me a racist and a f*cking C*unt and tells me to get my head out of my fourth point of contact and you guys don’t flinch. (I got a ding and a time out for saying “birds of a feather”)  I post a picture of a non-effeminate man and you get all triggered.  Sorry but if you conflate trolling with truth, it is you that has the problem, not me.

Toxic masculinity? Well....one form is social media trolling. You rarely see a female do it. Going onto a forum with the goal of pissing people off is kind of toxic.

it's sad to see one so totally under the control of propaganda.  if it were me, i would be ashamed of myself for being led so easily, but then again, i was taught to think for myself.

If you are confused if effeminate is an insult or not, try the dictionary

  1. (of a man) having or showing characteristics regarded as typical of a woman; unmanly.
"he lisps and his handshake is effeminate"

So explain to me, in your own words, why that is bad.

is that a Qanon poster? Sometimes you need to be careful who you're agreeing with.

Yep.  mQ is an abbreviation a poster on 4chan used a while back, "IamQ."

There are lots of misogynists out there who simply can't comprehend the idea that this could ever happen, who are actually threatened by the idea of a woman doing what a man can:

And plenty of men who can't carry most women, who are just as male as the rest. And, yes, women who can carry most men.

I'm assuming Brent means physically, because I've known plenty of men who have been carried professionally. Just as I've known women who have been carried professionally. Usually for different reasons in my experience, but it happens to both.

To get back to the original, projecting physical weakness ("effeminate") is bad. Projecting physical strength ("she's buff") is good. Maybe good health is good, and not taking care of yourself is bad, and equating either one with gender is stupid.

Camo pants, OD shirt and life jacket, a ball cap that appears to read SWAT and a rescue boat in the background. Just an average hero wandering by looking for someone to save, you reckon? To top off the toxic ass backwards thinking here, you can bet the woman and her baby weren't out looking for anyone. More likely, rescue found them. And yes, if you are going to post sexist crap like this, the distinction is valid. And just for giggles, maybe everything I just wrote is horse shit and it's a husband carrying his wife and infant to safety. She looks about +/- 110# and the kid another 10#. How hard is that in ankle deep water? No heroes or dudes required, seems to me.

I'm going to have to call bullshit. All men have been carried by a woman. They're called, "Mom."

Can you?

If you really want to go down this road, there are plenty of women who can carry YOU carrying a child.

If you mean metaphorically than yes, but if you mean literally than no.  (Unless you include trans women, than yes, plenty)
