Rush Limbaugh Dead at 70

I don’t believe he lost the White House. Too many election questions haven’t been answered.

The one important question that hasn't been answered is, "where's the evidence?"

It's the Trump campaign's job to come up with the evidence IN COURT, and so far nothing. He lost, get over it.

so, is this account for real or another russian troll?   sounds like way too much for even a script.

Most likely a product of FOX, Limbaugh, Alex Jones, et-al......Oh! and the former WH/trump troll factory.

He just held up a mirror, it’s not his fault if some hated the reflection. (As evidenced by the vitriol we are seeing in this forum)

No, he didn't hold up a mirror. What he did was show what his demographic thought. The thing is, that demographic no longer drives America most of the time. Used to -- it used to be all juries that wouldn't actually look at the evidence, now it's only Congress.

Used to be that white men defined stuff. Now they don't, and it feels like a loss to them. People feel a perceived loss more deeply than a failure to gain (give someone $10 and take it away, or don't give them any money -- who's more pissed off?)

it's actually worse than that, it's propaganda.  they took the fear and insecurity of their base, then fed them lies that fit their agenda until they believed it.  they started them thinking like that.  most of these dumbasses i am forced to hang out with, and actually agree on most things that we want.  it pains me to see how badly they were being used, and still are.  using fud effectively:  fear, uncertainty, doubt.

Well, advertising is propaganda (in fact, in Portuguese at least, that's the term for advertising). That's how you make money these days.

Unless you are there under sentence from a judge and wear an ankle bracelet you are not forced to be there. Leave or stop complaining about it. It isn't your job or your family, Do like we used to do, get a VW camper van, put a for sale sign on what you are leaving behind, hold your nose and hire a realtor if need be and just go. You are Special Forces, right? Should be a snap.

that is the current plan, or was until my son lost his mother last fall.  former special forces support, not tabbed, as that seems to be a big deal.  if i could find a place that would keep a standard bred horse and a jerusalem donkey together, i would be gone in a few months.

it is a good example of propaganda, and it works.  it's the only way they can get otherwise normal folks to vote for things that are not in their best interest.  it's also what happens when you leave all regulation to the corporations.  when folks put profit above everything, you get a state a lot like wv.  nothing but extraction here, and it's been like that for decades, centuries in all but the name.  predatory politicians, corporate shills in the regulatory bodies, hell, the damned governor switched parties less than a month after getting elected.  wv politics is about to get worse since they have a super majority in our state legislature.  they already started ramming bills through that have been stopped by various people in the past.

you guys can sit here and argue how things are elsewhere, or how they should or should not work, but i can guarantee you that it is nothing but greed driving wv politics.  it sucks balls that i am at least the 7th generation from this state, and have grandbabies here, and the only choice to having anything worth having is leaving.  yeah, i may be cynical, and i may have caused some of these issues myself, but that does not change the facts.  the facts are that we have almost no politicians which are not dirty, and in the pockets of the extraction industry.  they aren't even trying to hide it any more.

You don’t make billions of dollars in the toughest real estate market in the world being stupid. You don’t govern over the best economic numbers ever recorded being stupid.

True. But Trump never made billions. He lost everything his father gave him (or that Donnie stole from Fred), made a bunch of money on TV and then went and lost that too.

He was too stupid to make money with a casino. A CASINO.

He was given an excellent economy by Obama. He cut taxes, blew the debt & deficit way up and then couldn't handle the pandemic. So he 'governed over the worst unemployment numbers ever recorded'.

You telling me you really believe Biden got more votes than Obama did in 2008...really??

What questions haven't been answered?
Why didn't ANY of the court cases go anywhere?

Oh, yeah. Lying in a court of law is a crime.

The biggest 'unanswered question' is:

Why are Trump supporters so stupid?
Why do they keep believing his blatant lies?

Rush Limbaugh's demise reminds me of a road trip that I took with Manley Butler. Back in 1993, we drove together all the way from California to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The goal was to sell pilot emergency parachutes at the big Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-In.

Manley was an arch-conservative who subscribed to the "Limbaugh Letter", bought cassette tapes of Limbaugh's commentaries and knew when every radio station in the USA broadcast the "Rush LImbaugh Show." I knew almost nothing about Limbaugh at the start of the trip, but a week later had listened my lifetime quota of LImbaugh!

P.S. We sold a record number of parachutes that year at Oshkosh.

Wow! There is a lot of hate out there.  I don’t recall the righties on this forum dancing on the grave of RBG, even though her replacement by a Constitutional Originalist was much more impactful to people’s real lives than a talking head on AM radio who’s shoes are already filled by his progeny. (More than we can say about RBG).  Lots and lots of hate :/

That is quite an outrageous troll even for a seasoned pro like yourself.

First, I would consider that comparison to be dancing on RBGs grave. To compare someone who spent her career working for equality and justice to an overt racist who spent his entire career just trying to make money from conservatives by insulting liberals? What the hell kind of comparison is that?

Second, when Ginsburg died Republicans won. Through pure hypocrisy and the shameless application of political power in defiance of what they themselves recognised as the will of the people the right got exactly what they wanted, a hard right swing to an already right leaning court presiding over a nation which, on the whole, does not share those ideals. That is their celebration of her death. Lefties dont win anything from Limbaugh dying except the feeling that, on the whole, it's better that he's gone.

Biden couldn't draw a crowd to a rally? What are you talking about? Biden didn't hold any rallies. He was intelligent enough not to want to bring tens of thousands of people together in close proximity during a pandemic.

But talking of popularity numbers, you're surprised that the guy who consistently polled ahead throughout the course of the entire campaign, against an incumbent with record low approval ratings, won by a margin very close to what was expected to happen? I mean, it's not the greatest uset of all time, is it?

RBG = progressive icon

Rush = Conservative icon

Republicans won because they won at the ballot box and did exactly what their constituency wanted.  If you think for one second that the Democrats would not have done the same if the roles were reversed, you are delusional.

Yep. RBG was a progressive icon because she cared about the rights of others. Rush was a conservative icon because he was angry at the people they hate. That's exactly the point.

Except.... every single time something like this happens we hear 'Democrats would have done the same if...' but every single time it is an example of things the Republicans have actually done. Republicans engage in the most widespread gerrymandering. Republicans engage in armed voter intimidation. Republicans rewrite the rules of postal voting and ID laws to suppress the most votes possible from unfavourable groups. Republicans refused to hear one nomination for over a year and rammed another through in less than a month.

Sooner or later anyone with the slightest grip on reality has to realise that when you only ever hear people saying 'Democrats would have done this if...' then maybe it's just not true. Because that's the thing - the truth does not always lie in between two opposing groups or viewpoints. Sometimes one viewpoint is simply wrong, and sometimes one group is simply more amoral, more selfish and more concerned with excercising power instead of respecting the norms of good government than the other.
