Rush Limbaugh Dead at 70

Hi folks,

Talk about horsepuckey:  'He was polite and respectful to everyone he met.'

Conservative media pioneer Rush Limbaugh dead at 70 - POLITICO

She needs to wake up & face reality.

PS)  Oh, and let me ad:  Relentlessly, he sold a conservative viewpoint with braggadocio, complete with name-calling and insults.

There is reality.

Dick Costolo, the former Twitter chief executive officer, tweeted this past week that all businessmen and businesswomen who don’t share his progressive social agenda “are going to be the first people lined up against the wall and shot in the revolution.” He then added, “I’ll happily provide video commentary.”

Bhaskar Sunkara, the founder and publisher of the Jacobin magazine, while extolling the moral superiority of the SJW movement, posted, “I think killing the little Romanov children was justified …” By the way, Mr. Sunkara is known to be the ideological leader for the likes of Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and the host of other like-minded democratic socialists now proudly strutting the halls of the U.S. Congress.

Not to be outdone in this celebration of evil, Hillary Clinton’s former communications adviser, Zara Rahim, tweeted, “I hope [Trump] dies … we are waiting for [his] death.”

Ahhhh, the tolerant, ooops....I mean "Typical Left"

So I guess that as long as someone you disagree with, somewhere, says something stupid or hateful, that makes it OK for someone you agree with to say something hateful.

That's stupid. And look at the number of these; it's pretty disporportionate.

The point isn't that people aren't allowed to say these things -- we do have free speech. It's just that they're not without sanction or opprobrium, and they shouldn't be. It's a sad commentary that Limbaugh was able to make so much money and notoriety off being mean-spirited.

Someone, Somewhere? You mean people affiliated with, or participating in, our own government?

What examples of mean-spirited are you referring?

Here's a website devoted to things Rush Limbaugh said. It's just the ones judged the worst, so there are plenty more. He did talk on radio for 30 or so years. That's a lot of airtime to fill with what he called conservatism to his fans, and entertainment to his criticss

Back in the early nineties, everyone said, "You gotta listen to this guy!" Was driving back from grad school one day and caught him. Couldn't take 15 minutes of it. Click. Ain't heard a word since. I think it was a time when the signal to noise ratio inverted.

Interestingly enough, my brother in law (leans very far left) works on a TV show that has had tons of celebrities guests over the years. Rush came on the show and my BIL was furious that he was even scheduled, but as a professional, he did his job. When I spoke to him after the taping, it took everything he could to tell me that while he thinks Rush is a despicable excuse for a human being, he was the most professional and courteous celeb that he had worked with on the show. He hated admitting that.

I have heard similar comments from others that have worked with him as well. I still think he is disgusting and that the world is a better place now that he is dead. Just relaying what I was told.

Nope.  The actual statement was "Me-first capitalists who think you can separate society from business are going to be the first people lined up against the wall and shot in the revolution.”

Starting out with a dishonest comment like that is not the best way to make your point.

Yep. He was all about getting people riled up, so that they'd tell their friends, and get their friends to listen too.

Houston had a conservative talk host at the time who I listened to some (there's a limit to my talk radio quotient). He was a retired colonel if I remember rightly, and he had thoughtful, conservative, things to say.

But he didn't piss enough people off, so eventually he was replaced by Rush, and the even-more-outrageous follow-ons. Ratings rule.

That's your definition of mean-spirited?

Have you listened to the left lately?

All you have to do is scroll up on this post and you'll see all the hate you want!

A lot of the posters above are actually right-leaning, some of them have voted Republican for decades.

And I mean the old conservatism. The GOP kneels to only one man now.

You mean you only follow the ramblings of one man?
