I've never seen an online seller that would process the charge before the item was ready to ship. Exceptions I suppose for custom made orders. Caveat emptor suckers. jakee 1,316 #1935 February 22 The craziest bit of the situation is that the guy he has to pay is also a Trump supporter who believes there was election interference - he just thinks that Mike Lindell’s claims are so stupid it makes the rest of the election deniers look bad by association. This was the guy who won the "Prove Mike Wrong" contest by proving the data Lindell had 'showing the election was fraudulent' didn't do that. Which it didn't. When dude won, Lindell followed his idol's example by refusing to pay. And your link doesn't work, Professor. billvon 2,676 #1943 February 27 So Trump doesn't want to pay up in the rape/slander lawsuit - because his legal team said that even if Carroll was raped, is that really so upsetting? "Plaintiff failed to offer any evidence that her alleged distress was of any significant severity or duration, or that it resulted in any medical, physical, or clinical consequences—or even any extreme emotional effects." So they asked if they could just sort of, you know, not pay anything for a while. The judge, fortunately, was having none of it. "The Court declines to grant any stay, much less an unsecured stay, without first having afforded plaintiff a meaningful opportunity to be heard." And something tells me that Carroll will not agree to any such stay. It's also worthwhile noting that Trump's defense has switched from "Trump didn't rape her" to "she wasn't that upset by the rape." billvon 2,676 #1948 March 1 No one could have seen this coming. No one. "The co-founders of former president Donald Trump’s media company filed a lawsuit Wednesday, claiming that Trump and other leaders had schemed to deprive them of a stake in the company that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The case could complicate a long-delayed bid by Trump Media & Technology Group, owner of the social network Truth Social, to merge with a special purpose acquisition company called Digital World Acquisition and become a publicly traded company. That merger deal, which could value Trump’s stake in the company at more than $3 billion, would offer the former president a financial lifeline at a time when he is facing more than $454 million in penalties from a civil fraud judgment this month in New York." Trump? Scheming? Plotting? Doing his partners dirty? This can't be. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/02/29/truth-social-lawsuit-trump-media-founders/
ryoder 1,516 #1949 March 4 (edited) Atty Michael Popok analyzes the statement from SCOTUS in taking up the presidential immunity issue. He believes SCOTUS actually agrees on the majority of the lower court opinion, and it is only taking the case to clarify two issues: 1. Immunity of former versus current POTUS. 2. Official acts versus unofficial acts. In summary, he expects a very narrow ruling that will not help Trump at all. Edited March 4 by ryoder
