I think he is too stupid for that. A sharp lawyer will stroke his ego a bit. Lead him down the garden path a little. A little lie will come out, a little bigger lie. Then bingo, in typical trump fashion a civil settlement is arranged.

This isn't his first rodeo. He's been under oath before and can stonewall with the best of them.

Lest you start feeling bad about our former president, recall this historic American moment: This is the President of the United States of America and First Lady Melania Trump enjoying a photo op with Melania holding a baby orphaned in the El Paso gun Massacre. Thumbs up, big smiles, and a big shout out to all who made this cherished American moment possible, especially the murderers who gave Trump another opportunity to be an embarrassment to our nation.

Ah! Jakee you're forgetting. trump things he is so much smarter than any lawyer. Just stroke his ego a bit and his big yapper starts to flap.

Now he has come out and said that the money spent on Ukraine. Should instead be spent on "enhancing school safety". Not gun violence, "mental health", thoughts and prayers, etc. No school safety is the issue. Typical republican. He will be smiling and all agog and the NRA today. People wanting to take his picture, applause. trump further stated "Schools should be the single hardest target in America"

Just imagine Trump on the stand, being questioned by a prosecutor who finds a way to push his buttons until he explodes:

"YOU WANT THE TRUTH??? I CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!"

You would think so, but they haven't managed it yet. Trump on TV and Trump in a deposition are two very different people, it seems. Maybe he just pops a few Xanax before heading in just to damp down the urge to brag.

I don't think Trump has been deposed (is that the right word?) much.

I can find a couple, but not many.
He's been really good at weaseling out of them.

There's also been some accusation that he's contradicted himself in different ones, too.

Which would be perjury.

He's been fighting this as hard as he has for a reason.

He's scared to do it. For good reason.

They've got sworn testimony from a few different people that is contradictory. There's a pretty big 'credibility gap' between them.
Trump will be asked some specific questions, and he'll have to decide whether to follow up the lies with more lies (perjury) or admit that he ordered his security thugs to 'put people in the hospital' (admit liability).

It's really a 'no win' situation for him.

Makes me happier than I've been about Trump in a LOOOOOOONG time.

Will he though?

"I didn't say that" = bad.

"I don't recall saying that" = atta boy.

So much winning:

Sussmann, who worked for Clinton, acquitted of lying to FBI in 2016

“Politics were not a factor,” the jury forewoman said after a courtroom defeat for special counsel John Durham, appointed three years ago by then-Attorney General William Barr.

They clearly got caught by surprise on this one, or there would have been some news about Hunter's laptop first.

Too many people just don't get it that assertion != proof. Unfortunately, there's a history in the US that if you're the right kind of person, it doesn't matter.

Hi John,

Re:  It's the same set

I think it is sort of like an addiction.  Some people can be cured of any addiction with easy treatable methods.  Some, can never conquer any addiction they suffer.

Johnny Carson, long-time host of the TONIGHT show, was a lifelong smoker.  I understand he tried every method available to quit.  It eventually killed him.

Another big "win" for an enabler:
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/31/sarah-palin-speck-proof-libel-00036233

"Palin, for all her earlier assertions, could not in the end introduce even a speck of such evidence,”

Odd system though. Post trial motions accusing a judge of bias are decided on by the same judge?

Can’t see how that’d ever go wrong.

The post shared by Wood also claimed, without substantiation, that Lindell once offered a 66.6% discount on his pillows, implying that the pillow salesman had links to Satanism. The number 666 is sometimes used in popular culture to refer to "the mark of the beast," a Satanic symbol.

"These people" lost by less than 10% of the popular vote.
