President Biden is headed to a UAW auto workers picket line today. IMO its a mistake to pick a side in this dispute. He has stated that the UAW gave up allot when the industry was in trouble. That its time to get it back.

Biden's advisors probably told him he needed the union vote to win the election.

And the 20 or so SHELL COMPANIES???????? Everyone has those right?

I have 3 shell companies. Just empty LLC's I keep active in case of a business need. I'm actually going to put one to use next week.  You really need to keep an open mind about there being things you just don't know jack about.

Yeah, I have one as well.  Just a shell for a DBA.  The brewery that I'm in right now does the same thing.

(Let's hope no right winger reads this and comes in to shoot the place up because of the Clinton child sex ring in the "basement.")

Just curious whether you agree with the premise of that article that Joe Biden really is a good candidate, or if you just wanted to call Brent a bedwetter?

(Assuming you didn't just read the headline and make a massive assumption about the contents)

Where are you going to find one in Washington.

And now there's a movement to oust Gaetz.

"House GOP members are preparing a motion to expel Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., amid his renewed threat to pursue a motion to vacate House Speaker Kevin McCarthy."

It's just so sad that the GOP doesn't want a guy under investigation for child sex trafficking to represent them.  I mean, is that so bad?  His partner is in jail for that; isn't that enough?  It's not like he sent emails or had a laptop.

And even sadder to see the GOP eating their own.

Kinda funny how many people who have negotiated with Biden find him VERY capable, sharp and intelligent.

That includes allies like France's Marcon, opponents like Putin and even domestic opponents...

Like McCarthy.

Quote

Adam Cancryn, Jennifer Haberkorn, Lara Seligman, and Sam Stein of Politico confirmed that both McCarthy’s allies and opponents found him untrustworthy, noting that when negotiating with President Joe Biden on “a particularly sensitive matter,” the speaker privately told allies that he found the president “sharp and substantive in their conversations” while in public he made fun of Biden’s age and mental abilities. That contradiction “left a deep impression on the White House,” the reporters said.

Biden like most presidents surrounds himself with smart advisors. He listens to them as did Obama and others before him. The echo chamber of trump keeps his followers an a very narrow ignorant path. Its why facts matter so little to them.

Trump also had the very nasty habit of parroting the opinion of the last person who gave one to him.

It is remarkable that, for the most part, the closer someone gets to Biden the more competent they think he is.

It is also remarkable that Trump's worst enemies are the people who were closest to him in the past, and got to know him well.  As far as I can tell the only exceptions to that are the people who are actually in his will.

Close associates who are now opposed to him running again:

Mary Trump
Bill Barr
Mike Pence
Mike Pompeo
John Bolton
John Kelly
James Mattis
Mark Esper
Nikki Haley
Mick Mulvaney
Stephanie Grisham
Elaine Chao
Richard Spencer
Anthony Scaramucci
Tom Bosset
Michael Cohen
Alyssa Farah Griffin
Omarosa Manigault Newman
Cassidy Hutchinson
Sarah Matthews

Fits perfectly into the American stereotype to believe that somebody who portrays wealth, is bombastic and is crass must be successful/smart.

My wife is off again  this morning providing volunteer medical care to Vnenezuelan migrant families who have been bussed to Chicago by asshole Gov. Abbott of Texas.

I have to fault the federal government for its  lack of support for the cities receiving these busloads of desperate people. If something is not done before the winter weather arrives we will have a serious humanitarian crisis.  The city alone does not have the resources to deal with the amount of need.

John, the issue is that the border states also don’t have the resources. This is akin to the problems that Italy and Greece have in the EU. I think this is a dick move, too, but the point is worth discussing.

I originally thought it was a dick move as well. But its spread the problem around and forced more states and cities to put pressure on Washington to resolve/fund the issue.

Another bravo to Johns wife.

The border states will not have the same weather issues in January- March.  Tents don't work too well when you have blizzards and below zero (F) temperatures.

My wife saw patients in a bus today, since it was the only heated/dry  space available that wasn't already full of people.

Chicago police stations have more than 3,300 asylum-seekers sleeping in their lobbies, with another 550 sleeping at O’Hare   Airport.  Asylum seekers are not illegals and most are families.  Apparently many get shoved onto busses in Texas without being told why, or where they're being sent. So much for the GOP's "family values".
