Just What is Trump

Recommended Posts

A borrower without a lender. Evidently even his money stinks.

"A Florida bank announced Thursday that it has closed down former President Trump’s account, joining a growing list of entities that have cut ties with the former president following the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

In his financial disclosures, Trump had stated he had two money-market accounts with Banks United, The Washington Post reports. The accounts held somewhere between $5.1 million and $25.2 million.

“We no longer have any depository relationship with him," said Banks United, without giving reasons for its decision to shutter the accounts."

Not if you look at it by itself. I am speaking in the context of comparing the folly of Trump with the folly of the Iraq and middle east war, and the folly of Vietnam. Those particular mistakes can all be laid at the feet of leaders. However, no specific number can ever be known. What is known is that people are dying everywhere from the pandemic. In the US Republican leaders in general have responded poorly and Trump was the leader of their party. Yet NY and CA with D leadership have not done better.

trump has definitely been the worst, unless you accept that the vietnam war was when the gop started down the path that led to the changes that gave us trump in the first place.  take that out, and he wins (or loses) hands down.  take out the 250k deaths that would have occurred had he done everything right, and you are still left with more than vietnam and the gulf combined.  add to that the loss of face with putin basically controlling us for four years and all the damage he has done, both in the middle east and by showing the world just how easy it is to pwn america, and it goes way beyond just the death toll.  kind of hard for the state democrats to do things right when they have to fight the federal government for the scraps they do get.  then add to the fact that he single-handedly  brought white supremacy to the level of acceptability that allowed them to storm the capitol and there is no way anyone could catch up, short of the complete downfall of america.

that is how i see it, but maybe we measure things differently.  your view is overly narrow and needs to be broadened a little i think.

Hi folks,

The perfect analogy of Trump:  The former Trump Plaza casino is imploded . . . After falling into disrepair, the one-time jewel of former President Donald Trump's casino empire is reduced to rubble

Hi folks,

OK, now I know he is delusional:  I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House and we are going to reclaim the Senate — and then in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House.

Now, compare that to this ( from the same article ):  While a significant faction of the Republican Party hopes to move past Trump’s divisive leadership

Morning, Jerry.

Jerry had to visit the doctor after cutting his hand. Eventually the topic got around to Donald Trump and his role as the President. Jerry said, " Well, as I see it, Donald Trump is like a 'Post Tortoise'.'' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what's a "post tortoise?"

Jerry said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a tortoise balanced on top, that's a post tortoise." Jerry saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain.

"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with."
