Lefties and lockdowns

Move there and show them how it's done, I'm sure they can use another turbine dropzone. No stupid masks allowed, including plexiglas visors, 1440 degree low turns encouraged because it's all about personal responsibility, No AAD's because conservatives know that self reliance is key and grand opening day is every day because, well, FREEDOM! Go for it, man, you have an MBA, what more can it take?

And don't forget no nanny state reserve checks!  They're adults, let them maintain their gear as they see fit.  (And let your pilots man up and take responsibility for themselves if they're scared whiners.)

You guys luvs you some straw men.

BTW if that was the early mindset, skydiving would not exist.  The scared whiners came later.  To be fair, the scared whiners did play crucial role in the mainstreaming skydiving but if they were there in the beginning, the sport would have been killed in the cradle.

Innovation, discovery and pushing the envelope are domains of the bold, not the timid.

When the nannies made skydiving more safe, the bold discovered swooping, BASE and wing suits.

Then came rules to keep those people from killing themselves and others.  A good thing.

Each side needs the other to move forward, so let’s not be dicks about it.

When did you start sport jumping?

1992, I learned at the foot of Dave DeWolf and was regaled with stories of the old days.  My first jump was in ‘82 and I have been in the community ever since.

Thank you. I knew you jumped in the military but that's different and really doesn't count towards time in sport. I guess what I am looking for is how many fun/competition/invitational jumps you've made since 1992. I'm a DZO, as you know, so I know there is a difference. That would help me understand where you are coming from when you state: "Each side needs the other to move forward, so let’s not be dicks about it."

I’m a relative cherry with only about 5k, but I have been around through a lot of transition.  I remember the WFFC in 98/99 a couple of buddies and I were demoing the early Xbraced canopies.  We decided they had incredible performance but their openings were less than good.  Just as Jazz and I were wavering, Sporto spoke up and reminded us of the that we were the beneficiaries of those who came before us and it was now out turn to pick up the torch, we did. It was scary, it was dangerous, but so was jumping surplus WW2 gear.  The world needs throttles and it needs breaks.

You can indeed ask for that.  You realize, of course, he will tell you whatever makes you angrier; that's his goal here.  Honesty is definitely not.

I'm a base jumper, and was terrain flying wingsuits right through the years where August regularly saw so many additions to the BFL that it became known as WSBK - wingsuit base killing season.

Does that make me bold enough for it to mean something when I say you're full of shit?

Indeed, I can and indeed he did, or didn't, or did he? My Brentometer is on the fritz and it's too early for pen and paper, I fear.

Did you have an S&TA?

And wouldn’t that be WSBKS, or WBKS?

OK, I got the damn thing working. Bad batteries, Bill. Go figure, right? Sporto and Jazz are voices that serve him the same way the rest of us had invisible friends, according to the algorithm. Early cross braced means Excaliber's, apparently, as if no one else was around way back then. No detail on 5K + jump experience means 4000+ Tandems and a love of thrilling the crowd and scaring himself with his pocket rocket at the end of the day. "It was scary, it was dangerous, but so was jumping surplus WW2 gear.  The world needs throttles and it needs breaks.", means, sure it's pure imagination, but the world needs heroes and I'm here for you.

The fuck are you talking about? Mountains aren't DZs. If you can't comprehend going jumping without relying on someone else watching over your safety you might want to reconsider who you think is a scared whiner.

But again, since it's so important to keep track of who's bold or not, what does it mean when I say you're full of shit?

This is funny and almost surreal. I don’t know why you’d believe me any more than you’d believe hutch, but I first met him in ‘98 and that story is pretty much how I remember it. Icarus FX was just getting to the masses, and I distinctly recall him babbling around the dz at that time about some crazy badass canopy he got to demo somewhere. I didn’t go to Quincy that year so I don’t know if that’s where it was. I was only like 1-200 jump wonder at the time. He regaled me with tales of insane wing loading and crazy fast swoops being achieved by the top canopy pilots of the day. I only met Jazz a few times but he was real.

Here in Happy Valley we are running a real world experiment on the effectiveness or lack there of, of lockdowns.  This past weekend the Penn State kids celebrated the annual “State Paddy’s Day” an orgy of drunken debauchery celebrated the weekend after Dance Marathon (the world’s largest, student run, philanthropy). Since the bars are shut down and campus activities limited because of COVID, the party went downtown to houses and apartments.  Few masks were seen as drunken students made their way from party to party packing themselves into overcrowded rooms and balconies.  If the lefties are correct, we should see a tremendous increase in CORONA virus in the next week or so followed by a spike in hospitalizations and deaths from an overwhelmed health care system.

I will give an update upon my return from Disney World in two weeks.

May be a cartoon of text that says "I do not like your mental haze, I do not like your leftist ways. I do not like your son on blow, I do not like you Mr. Joe."

Not surprised you are more of a supporter of a real family values American. The type that is multiple times divorced, multiple baby-mamas, at least one of them using chain migration to bring her family, fucking porn stars while wife is pregnant kind. Now, THAT is a true patriot!!
